Excellent. I had the jumbo Pacific shrimp. My friend had the octopus, and she said it was the best she ever had. Everything, the drinks, apps, and meal was fantastic. The highlight was the almond financier with fig leaves cream. It was incredible, the best dessert ever. I still dream about it.

The food was wonderful. The staff was awesome and they sang happy birthday to me at the end of dinner!

Cannot recommend Don Rufino enough! We came in during a rainstorm and were the only diners for a while which was an unexpected treat. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, warm. The food was the best we had in Costa Rica, no question! Also we had a very special bottle of wine, that was even discounted in price. The steak was so delicious, we were told it was from a local farm very nearby and you could taste it. The grandmas chicken dish was a heartwarming and flavorful dish. We were too full for dessert so we’ll have to come back!

LOVED this place so much we can for every meal! If you are a Foodie this is your spot! MUST try the tasting menu at least once:) Do not be afraid - it was all wonderful!

Lovely place and really good food!!! The entrada with octopus was delicius and my tenderloin medallions incredible. Very good wine and a great service. Highly recommended!

Amazing food and drinks. Terrible noise levels, it was overwhelmingly loud. It overshadowed the eating experience we had to talk loud to be able to hear each other from across the table. It's worth going once. The food is superior in quality and flavor. But, I do not recommend going back if the noise levels aren't improved.

What a wonderful dining experience at Don Rufino! Four of us landed today and drove from SJO straight to town and headed straight to this wonderful restaurant. The aesthetic inside is very calming and upscale, and the service was above par - we had a team waiting on us the whole time. We felt like celebrities must feel! Cocktails were inventive and creative, with thoughtful accoutrements. The burrata app is not to be missed. We ordered several entrees to split and they were all spectacular, but the cauliflower dish was worth its weight in gold! Many thanks to the team - you started off our vacation right!
