Located in the heart of Downtown Portland, OR on the bustling corner of SW Alder & SW 12th, Dolly Olive centers around Southern Mediterranean ingredients and flavors, with an emphasis on an in house bakery program, fresh made pastas, and Italian aperitifs. Dolly Olive sports an inviting atmosphere featuring soft leather banquettes, warm wood accents, and custom patterned tiles.

This restaurant is a solid four stars. We made a reservation late in the week and secured a table in the bar. Table was small, no problem, but the restaurant “strongly encourages” ordering all small plates at the same time and “the food comes out as prepared”. Sadly all the dishes arrived very quickly and we were served all of them at once. This made the small table cramped and we felt rushed to finish our meal. The food was quite good but we likely won’t be back as we prefer to dine on our on terms. I believe a tapas dining experience should be a little slower paced with the dishes staggered.

Amazing service and yummy food. We loved all the dishes especially the butter pasta and mushroom polenta. Good sized portions and great quality food. Fun night. Thank you.

Sunday Brunch. We shared 4 items between us 2. The servings were perfect and all 4 items were wonderful. We started with farro zucchini dill salad that I will likely never forget. So fresh! Next we had the oregano fried potatoes; I was licking up the crumbs of the frizzled oregano. Followed then with eggs purgatory with Italian sausage. The fennel came thru so nicely. I could eat that sauce on anything. Ending with the warm berry coffee cake which was most likely the best coffee cake I've ever had. Chance the server was just the right amount of attentive and knew the food. In all honesty, I enjoyed the decor, starting with the first step onto the beautifully patterned Italian tile. Yes we will be back!

Excellent wait staff! Excellent food! Share plates, but plenty of great food to go around. Pastas, prime rib, polenta with mushrooms, and desserts were delicious. Drinks were great.

We had one of our favorite meals of all time! From the heirloom tomatoes and pesto, to the melon salad to the pasta dish to the sorbet. Simply INCREDIBLE!!!!

Entry to exit, every plate, every taste, consistently outstanding. Burrata with fresh blackberries, salmon crudo,fresh salads, salmon filet, prawns in romesco…great flavors, well presented. Total winner…leaving only one question…why did it take me so long to find you Dolly Olive?!

Had an amazing brunch here! Food was spectacular, ordered the special of the day recommended by our server and it did not disappoint. Will be returning!!!

The food is great, but nothing was memorable. Unfortunately it is just far too expensive, especially relative to the portions, for us to return. I say this as a regular diner at other Sesame Collective restaurants.

Sadly, Dolly Olive has evolved (?) from an outstanding Mediterranean menu to a mediocre Italian one, of which Portland already has too many. Bring back the old menu items (especially Spanish Octopus), or we will probably not return.
