Had the Sunday roast - beef was a bit too fatty for my liking. However, I know people who have dined at the Dog and Pickle previously and enjoyed the food.

We ate on a Sunday evening. Roasts seemed to be lunchtime leftovers and weren’t great. Other items ordered were much better. Service was slow. Nice surroundings, pleasant staff

Food is nice. We waited a long time for someone to take our order. Even though she said she would be over in a minute to take our drinks order. We ended up ordering drinks and food at the same time. Ran out of rump steak and thso wasn't conveyed to us before we ordered. We ordered a garlic flatbread with one meal which never came. We chased up numerous times. We had to cancel as we had all finished our meal. Bit disappointed with the place because looks nice on the outside.

Good food, good service, the pizza's were very filling. It was a family birthday and they had no issue with us bringing our own cake.

Despite the place being fairly quiet with only about 3 tables occupied in addition to ours,we waited over half an hour for our soup starter.There were 3 of us and one of the soup dishes was clearly filled to half the level of the others,though the soup was very good.We chose from the fixed lunch menu,the food was tasty and well presented though be aware that if choosing from the fixed menu the portions of veg/potatoes were small. All in all I would return to try them again.

After ordering our drinks we were told that no Sunday roasts left, even though we had booked a Sunday tea time slot. Sunday menu was on so not much choice other than roast dinners, when re selecting found that the other option we wanted was not available either. Staff were really friendly and sorry about it but would expect a restaurant that advertises there Sunday roasts as available from 12pm all day on socials to have them available at a 6pm booking slot, had to pay for the drink we had ordered prior to finding out about the missing menu items and move on to try and find somewhere else available for tea. Like I say staff were really friendly and apologetic. (fully aware its not there fault). But left rather disappointed as heard nothing but good things about the restaurant and quality of food. :(
