Excellent meal. Great fish and chips and steak and ale pie. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Too full for dessert, but enjoyed cappuccino!

Sundays dinners were very good. Staff didn’t know the menu particularly well when we asked for the sharing platter - they were unsure it was a menu item. One of the two desserts was off the menu after ordering, but the alternative was very nice.

Had the Sunday roast - beef was a bit too fatty for my liking. However, I know people who have dined at the Dog and Pickle previously and enjoyed the food.

We ate on a Sunday evening. Roasts seemed to be lunchtime leftovers and weren’t great. Other items ordered were much better. Service was slow. Nice surroundings, pleasant staff

Food is nice. We waited a long time for someone to take our order. Even though she said she would be over in a minute to take our drinks order. We ended up ordering drinks and food at the same time. Ran out of rump steak and thso wasn't conveyed to us before we ordered. We ordered a garlic flatbread with one meal which never came. We chased up numerous times. We had to cancel as we had all finished our meal. Bit disappointed with the place because looks nice on the outside.

Good food, good service, the pizza's were very filling. It was a family birthday and they had no issue with us bringing our own cake.

Despite the place being fairly quiet with only about 3 tables occupied in addition to ours,we waited over half an hour for our soup starter.There were 3 of us and one of the soup dishes was clearly filled to half the level of the others,though the soup was very good.We chose from the fixed lunch menu,the food was tasty and well presented though be aware that if choosing from the fixed menu the portions of veg/potatoes were small. All in all I would return to try them again.
