Dobson & Parnell is a bustling, smart, reliable and grown-up restaurant on Newcastle’s vibrant quayside. Its understated elegant dining room adds a touch of Victorian glamour and comfort.

Specialising in perfectly-executed, refined European cuisine, using ethically-sourced local seasonal produce direct from nearby farms and markets, the sustainable kitchen specialises in preserving techniques such as curing, smoking, salting, brining and fermenting.

Had a fantastic time. My only issue was that I had taken my partner out for his birthday, I’d hidden the bill from him, then when the waitress came over with the card machine, I had to cut her off as she was saying the price, showed her the receipt as I added a tip on, then she proceeded to say the total amount with the tip added on and I had to try and cut her off again so he didn’t hear. Everything else was absolutely spot on and the service otherwise was incredible! Just wish she hadn’t have ruined the surprise with how much the total bill was, after I’d already tried to be discreet and cut her off twice 😞

Food was amazing, 1 item on menu was replaced ....smoked pork shoulder for parma ham ..… my wife confirmed she was gluten free on entering..chose suitable menu regarding her dietary requirements, suffered a reaction to cross contamination .the starter had an additional ingredient added, probably the sourdough crisps.... resulting in stomach pains and toilet visits during the night , this I must add took away the very pleasant experience

We regularly visit Dobson & Parnell and are never disappointed. Great service, everyone is very friendly, good ambiance and delicious food and wine. Will be back soon.

My first visit. Friendly and welcoming staff, a good menu choice and well cooked and presented food. Excellent wine list. All round very good - a place worth revisiting.
