Founded and headed by Chef Pedro Matamoros who has been crafting spectacular American cuisine for the past 30 years in locations such as the Tabard Inn, Nicaro, 8407 Kitchen Bar, Bluebird Cocktail Room in Baltimore and more.
After Embarking on the journey to create Franks Burger Place in Wheaton with his two sons, Marlon and Derek Matamoros. Chef Pedro, Inspired by his love of cooking and community, Fell upon the opportunity to Bring to Wheaton what he believed was missing, a casual Eatery to enjoy great food, and classic hand crafted cocktails.

4th time was a disaster. Early evening reservation for 4, almost empty venue, party ordered crab meat specials and burgers. Due to religious reasons, request was made to the server to omit the bacon and for taste purposes, the blue cheese. When the orders came, there was the bacon and the blue cheese on the 2 burgers. As the organizer, i was embarrassed and upset. I had wanted to have a nice comfortable meal with our friends to introduce them to what had previously been a nice place to dine. Our dining companions were too nice and said no big deal to the server and proceeded to scrape off the cheese and the bacon which were piled in the middle of the table, rather than having them returned to the kitchen. I asked my spouse how she liked her crab cake and she was unhappy. Turned out she thought it was full of vinegar. The fries were uncharacteristically limp like they had been sitting around for awhile. In the middle of the meal, I took advantage of the few servers who passed in the now crowded venue and told him what had happened and that I was embarrassed and upset by this lapse. I requested the check as I wished to treat my friends and suddenly the owner appeared. I told him what had occurred and he essentially brushed it off, noted that the server was not at any fault and proceeded to lecture me on requesting management if there was a problem. (Pro tip - do not act in an insulting condescending manner to an already upset diner if you ever expect them to return). The owner offered little in the way of apology and surely made no gesture not even a token one to offset what had turned into a poor dining experience. Will we ever return. TBD

Food was delicious, service a little slow even though we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Also, could not make a reservation via phone--no one answered when I tried several times over two days. Reserve online instead. The main difficulty we had was reading the menu (we're all middle-aged) in dim light and small font--maybe greater contrast and/or slightly stronger lighting? From the Sunday night clientele, seems like us older folks are the main group there.

Excellent food. Anything with smoked salmon is recommended. Gumbo also. Salad was excellent - such good dressing. Beignets were the best I’ve had in the DC area. The service was a bit disordered. We went for an early brunch and it took a while to get coffee and some of the mains came out before the appetizers.

My party of 3 were the first to arrive ag approximately 4:00 pm. The service started off a little slow due to preparations and setting up the bar for service. Once the staff was ready the dinning experience was outstanding. We had a great Columbia guy who was very attentive and continued to be skillfully observant to detail throughout the entire dinning experience. We all left the dinning area very happy and vowing to return soon!! Good luck and continued great services. Someone said this restaurant is a true gem in Wheaton and I could not agree more!! Thank you for a lovely evening dinner!

disappointing - 2 dishes were sold out - tuna tartar and steak frite Waiter never asked for cocktail order, so we didn't drink Never refilled water glasses Food was good (salmon burger, fried oyster) but not especially memorable We will try again since dearth of choices in Wheaton

I was looking forward to eating at District Bistro because I was reading a lot of good feedback, however it did not live up to my expectations. My scallops were delicious, but my husband's crab cake plater was just ok. We had the lamb meatballs which were very good ,but an extremely small portion. What bothered me the most was the service. The waitress was very rushed and didn't even finish listening to my question. No one came over to ask if we wanted another drink and ask if everything was ok during our meal. The water was served lukewarm.

Good evening out, though it was not quite at the level suggested by the recent Washington Post ratings. Salads were excellent but the mains disappointed - chicken was oversalted and the seafood stew lacked variety and was too soupy for my taste. Attentive, prompt service.
