District Bistro,Located at 11230 Grandview Ave, offers classic American Cuisine utilizing simple, high quality ingredients from local farm Co-ops and Creameries in Pennsylvania. Founded and headed by Chef Pedro Matamoros who has been crafting spectacular American cuisine for the past 30 years in locations such as the Tabard Inn, Nicaro, 8407 Kitchen Bar, Bluebird Cocktail Room in Baltimore and more.
After Embarking on the journey to create Franks Burger Place in Wheaton with his two sons, Marlon and Derek Matamoros. Chef Pedro, Inspired by his love of cooking and community, Fell upon the opportunity to Bring to Wheaton what he believed was missing, a casual Eatery to enjoy great food, and classic hand crafted cocktails.

everything was fine except for the screaming baby. Why would a parent take a baby to an upscale restaurant

Have been here a number of times. Spouse had a burger, as usual excellent, server followed preparation instructions well. Ordered the New England clam chowder. Have previously had their vegetable soup which was excellent. The chowder was especially tasteless and bland. Have had better from Costco. Ordered the soft shell special. The crab was fine, properly prepared but the mess it sat on was a mustard reduction with sweet potato and ham and spinach which frankly I did not like, almost bitter and too much mustard. Should have asked for tartar sauce. Have had their soft shell as a sandwich which was excellent. Service was excellent and ambience pleasant. Live and learn

Wonderful food at District Bistro, a casual dining spot in Wheaton. Our salmon burgers were really really tasty as were the crisp french fries. A sauvignon blanc from California was an excellent choice. The air conditioning was a bit too high and the noise level also too high. Perhaps some dampening material would help with sound volume and a lowered temperature would be appreciated. District Bistro is a great addition to the restaurant choices in Wheaton!

Our appetizers were the highlights, especially the fried green tomatoes. The steak in the steak frites tasted a little off to my son. Overall, great experience. Creative and well-executed menu. Friendly, efficient service. Good value. A great addition to the area. Thank you, Pedro Matamoros!

We selected this restaurant based on an online menu for brunches. This was a birthday brunch. The menu seemed creative and we weren't disappointed. We had both a small plate and main dish. Both unusual and tasty. Lots of variety to choose from. Service, however, left much to be desired. It seemed uncoordinated by untrained waiters. For example, we were there for brunch, and we should have been offered coffee within minutes. We had to ask twice to two different waiters. Plates and silverware arrived eventually. Water was given but it was warm tap water; no ice. The waiter took or orders without writing them down; one dish came out incorrectly. We received free beignets but weren't sure whether this was usual or based on my note on Open Table that this was a birthday celebration. The waiter brought them but said nothing. And so it went.

Great food and great price. It was our first time there and the waitress couldn’t be more helpful. We can’t wait to go back.

4th time was a disaster. Early evening reservation for 4, almost empty venue, party ordered crab meat specials and burgers. Due to religious reasons, request was made to the server to omit the bacon and for taste purposes, the blue cheese. When the orders came, there was the bacon and the blue cheese on the 2 burgers. As the organizer, i was embarrassed and upset. I had wanted to have a nice comfortable meal with our friends to introduce them to what had previously been a nice place to dine. Our dining companions were too nice and said no big deal to the server and proceeded to scrape off the cheese and the bacon which were piled in the middle of the table, rather than having them returned to the kitchen. I asked my spouse how she liked her crab cake and she was unhappy. Turned out she thought it was full of vinegar. The fries were uncharacteristically limp like they had been sitting around for awhile. In the middle of the meal, I took advantage of the few servers who passed in the now crowded venue and told him what had happened and that I was embarrassed and upset by this lapse. I requested the check as I wished to treat my friends and suddenly the owner appeared. I told him what had occurred and he essentially brushed it off, noted that the server was not at any fault and proceeded to lecture me on requesting management if there was a problem. (Pro tip - do not act in an insulting condescending manner to an already upset diner if you ever expect them to return). The owner offered little in the way of apology and surely made no gesture not even a token one to offset what had turned into a poor dining experience. Will we ever return. TBD

Food was delicious, service a little slow even though we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Also, could not make a reservation via phone--no one answered when I tried several times over two days. Reserve online instead. The main difficulty we had was reading the menu (we're all middle-aged) in dim light and small font--maybe greater contrast and/or slightly stronger lighting? From the Sunday night clientele, seems like us older folks are the main group there.
