Welcome to the Cliff Hotel in Gorleston-On Sea, a hotel and restaurant with unrivalled views of the Norfolk and Suffolk coast.

The Cliff Hotel dates back to 1890 when the original hotel was opened, in 1915 the building was ravaged by fire and demolished. The old staff accommodation was renovated into a new hotel, the building that we currently occupy today.

We have a vast selection of dining options from our relaxed art-deco inspired MUSE restaurant, our vibrant bar dining area or one of the biggest outside dining terraces in Norfolk.

Wherever you decide to eat our menus will give you a huge variety of choice from fresh fish to steaks and grills. Alternatively we have lighter snacks and a range of classic dishes to delight all tastes.

The hotel is situated 2 minutes off the main A47 road, 17 miles east of Norwich. Nearest train station is in Great Yarmouth, a 10 minute taxi ride away. There are regular bus links to Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, the nearest bus stop is on Avondale Road. Domestic and international flights can be arranged from Norwich international airport.

Above and beyond, particularly as my guest was Gluten, Dairy and Soya intollerent. The young waitress double checked with the chef, that what was specially set up, was free from all allergens. My guest loved it and will be having it again. Please ignore any of the online reviews, visit and decide for yourself. Wonderful views of the sea too. Kathy, Norfolk

We were having lunch with my parents. The restaurant and the service were both excellent, the food was very good, the only tiny thing being the broccoli was on the firm side. Two of us had Beef, which was a delicious piece of topside and the others had the nut roast which they said was very tasty too. It was good value for money and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I had an amazing birthday dinner with my friends. The staff were very kind and warm with a good sense of humour. Food was absolutely delicious! Definitely coming back.🤗

Excellent indoor & outdoor seating venue. Menu very good for starters, main & dessert. We also had a very helpful and pleasant waitress. As good a value food-wise as anywhere else but with the pleasure of being outside on the Terrace - with the roof in place when it’s too hot or damp!

All perfect, we arrived early, the only thing was no one acknowledged our presence and we had to come to the bar to get our table booked.

Service was a little slow but it was also packed so it was understandable food was and came hot also I reserved seats inside but ended up dining outside on the terrace which was welcome.

It was a birthday lunch and, although we thought we had booked an inside table, it was very busy so we went outside. The view outside is usually very good but on this particular day there was heavy rain and chilly wind. However the staff were great and set up heaters and blankets so we were ok. Service was reasonably quick so we didn't have to wait long. Will definitely visit again, but will watch the weather conditions first.

Lovely experience having afternoon tea on the terrace looking out to sea. Food and service were very good.

We were a party of 4 , we all ordered Roast Beef Sunday Roast. The meal was all piled up so the Yorkshire was on top and big thick slice of Roast Beef underneath and the the potatoes and other veg underneath that. Roast potatoes were warm And had to more supplied but by the time they were brought to the table it was too late. Wish I returned the whole meal to be replaced. The Beef I absolutely loved to bits though. Will not hesitate next time to check all yhe meal components that they are of reasonable temperature before eating too much.
