Welcome to the Cliff Hotel in Gorleston-On Sea, a hotel and restaurant with unrivalled views of the Norfolk and Suffolk coast.

The Cliff Hotel dates back to 1890 when the original hotel was opened, in 1915 the building was ravaged by fire and demolished. The old staff accommodation was renovated into a new hotel, the building that we currently occupy today.

We have a vast selection of dining options from our relaxed art-deco inspired MUSE restaurant, our vibrant bar dining area or one of the biggest outside dining terraces in Norfolk.

Wherever you decide to eat our menus will give you a huge variety of choice from fresh fish to steaks and grills. Alternatively we have lighter snacks and a range of classic dishes to delight all tastes.

We have a small private car park, as well as on street parking.Please be aware that during high season and busy periods parking is at a premium and that we cannot guarantee parking. Disabled parking is available.

The hotel is situated 2 minutes off the main A47 road, 17 miles east of Norwich. Nearest train station is in Great Yarmouth, a 10 minute taxi ride away. There are regular bus links to Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, the nearest bus stop is on Avondale Road. Domestic and international flights can be arranged from Norwich international airport.

Great service at first but then once we had got our food we were forgotten about! Didn’t get asked for desserts or drinks and we had to go to the bar to ask for the bill.

The roast chicken was very good, but the chicken would have been better served sliced rather than chunks and still on the bone 🦴.

Pulled pork was disappointing and extremely vinegary. Also service was very slow and lacking.

Visited for afternoon tea today, and was very happy with the food and service. I would definitely recommend and will visit again.

We found it very noisy the TV was playing ( No one was watching Rugby ) Music playing and people trying to hold a conversation. The food was excellent service was patchy was not offered a sweet menu could be so much better with proper organization

Service was attentive but not pushy as a friend, who hadn't seen each other in quite a long time, spent a long time catching-up before ordering.

Food was great, but had to wait too long for it 45 mins. Just so noisy, didn't stay for desert as we just had to get out. Maybe think of some ways to dampen noise and turn off the music. Great food but sorry not likely to return

Went with my friend for lunch it is a great setting up there on the terrace,lunch was lovely we had crab cakes,and red prawns super

Lovely Sunday lunch out on the terrace, the food was very nice indeed, water was provided for our dog and he was happy sitting under the table waiting for the odd scrap that came his way.
