All of our dining will be either 6.30 or 7.00pm starts, unfortunately we will not be able to offer any later tables.

Our Adult only fine dining restaurant has been awarded two rosettes by the AA for the quality of our food.

We aim to host the majority of our summer and early autumn dining, alfresco in our newly built under cover outside dining experience in the garden. IMPORTANT ! when booking during this period please note, dining maybe inside or outside and will be weather dependent and whilst we understand that some of you may book with us to experience the outside booths, on the night should the weather becomes extreme, we unfortunately may need to move the dining experience inside. .

Great service. Best scallops I’ve ever eaten, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the white Rioja. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Food was delicious & beautifully presented, but, thought overall it was expensive, had the vegetables been included with the main meal price it wouldn’t have been so bad. My sparkling wine was overpriced! We were expecting a unique experience as per the write up, but, to be honest we didn’t find anything unique about the restaurant. We did enjoy our evening, but, it wasn’t quite the icing on the cake.

Our second visit and every bit as good as we remembered. A great choice including a number of fish and vegetarian options and all beautifully cooked. The ambience is wonderful, quiet but not too formal and the service is excellent. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, and Andy the owner was a great host. Would come back without a doubt if in Southwold again.

We very much enjoyed our evening at Sutherland house. The food was excellent as was the service afforded to us by the Manager and his team. We will book this restaurant again on our next visit to Southwold.

The setting, service and wine were all to a good standard. Unfortunately, although presented well, the food was a little disappointing. The Monkfish Wellington came in a thin short crust pastry (I expected puff pastry) which was hard and cardboard like in taste and texture. The accompaniments were on the tasteless side and the combination ruined the main dish. The starter was also underwhelming (so much so I have forgotten what it was!). For the price paid, I expect better food. Perhaps they were having an off day in the kitchen.

Had a lovely meal and experience at Sutherland House at the weekend. Andy was very accommodating and friendly, took (and gave) a bit of banter, and had a great time! Food was divine - thank you to Andy's wife doing the hard work in the kitchen - beautiful dishes all round ... not a smidgen left on the plates! Thanks again, Mel

The service was excellent thanks to Andy. Not happy with booking on line but do understand as Andy explained the reasons behind it! Should we visit Southwold again will definitely the restaurant.
