All of our dining will be either 6.30 or 7.00pm starts, unfortunately we will not be able to offer any later tables.

Our Adult only fine dining restaurant has been awarded two rosettes by the AA for the quality of our food.

We aim to host the majority of our summer and early autumn dining, alfresco in our newly built under cover outside dining experience in the garden. IMPORTANT ! when booking during this period please note, dining maybe inside or outside and will be weather dependent and whilst we understand that some of you may book with us to experience the outside booths, on the night should the weather becomes extreme, we unfortunately may need to move the dining experience inside. .

Enjoy a Three Course Lunch whilst listening to live Jazz from Suffolks Very own Olivia Castle. Currently based in Thornton, Olivia has worked with a fair few big names notably the late Sir Michael Parkinson. Cancellations with less than one week’s notice will incur a charge of the full per head menu price. This charge also applies to reductions in cover numbers as well as full cancellations.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary on the 1st October and we were delighted to have chosen Sutherland House for our celebration meal. The food was first class and the whole evening was superb with excellent service.

Excellent food and service, thank you for a great evening. We enjoyed the wine we selected from Andy's Fine wine list. Thank you for catering for my wife's Nut allergy, I really appreciate it. We will book again next time we are in Southwold, if you'll have us.:0)

What a magical find Sutherland House was. We felt like we’d been invited to a private dinner party rather than a restaurant with the extra benefit of a bed for the night! The Service was excellent bring both focused and efficient as well as individual and personal. The menu was wonderful offering a good choice of freshly cooked fish and vegetarian options and a meat dish too. Highly recommend the cured mackerel and pressed watermelon starter! Thank you

Fantastic intimate restaurant. Menu was new and exciting with lots of choice. The trio of desserts was to die for !!! The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was just right. Definitely recommend but you have to book well in advance

The best meal we've had at this wonderful restaurant. The mackerel and watermelon, u.mmm. the hake suburb, and the Andy was on form waiting for our next visit to see his comb-over !!!

Sutherland House has always been one of our favourite restaurants, however we haven’t been since Covid. It certainly didn’t disappoint, the staff were welcoming and friendly just the right amount of attentiveness and the food was absolutely delicious. We will certainly be returning much sooner and on a more regular basis.
