The best indian food i have ever had in New Jersey! It was also my birthday, they gave us a complimentary cake and we really loved their surprise.

Dined with a friend who is from Rajasthan. He was exceedingly delighted. His only negative was the Naan which he found to be powdery .Wonderful in every sense. Great decor. Music is a bit too high, making conversation difficult.Will definitely be back.

We recently visited Dhamal in Montclair to celebrate a friend's birthday, and as always, the experience was spectacular. The food was excellent; the mafo tofu was delightful, and the goat curry was to die for. We can't forget to mention the nambread, which was as delicious as ever. The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy and perfect for any special occasion. Additionally, the service from the waitstaff was impeccable, making our night even more enjoyable Thanks Anne and the other guys 👍🤩 We highly recommend Dhamal and will definitely be returning soon.

The food is excellent and the ambiance is lovely and we enjoyed dining at Dhamaal. However there was a big miss that might keep us from going back anytime soon. We made a 6:30p reservation on Friday night and upon arrival we were told before we even sat down that we could only have the table for 90 mins. This didn't seem like a huge issue however about 70 minutes into the meal our server wanted to clear our plates but we were still eating. He came over to the table several times and on the final attempt he motioned to his watch and said there's a table coming in at 8p and we need to finish. Having ordered over $100 for two people without alcohol I would have hoped we would have been treated better. We opted not to have dessert due to the inconsiderate waiter and as we left the restaurant (at 8p!) there we at least a half dozen or more two-tops open for seating. I hope that Dhamaal can work on their customer service as this left us disappointed especially since the food was delicious.

The food at Dhamaal was fantastic, seriously...out of this world. I had the Tawa Paneer which was absolutely delicious, perfectly balanced with flavors. The only thing keeping this from a perfect review was the service. From the moment I sat with my dining partner, I felt like I was being rushed out. I would have understood if there was a line waiting to be seated, but it was a Sunday evening and the restaurant had people but was not anywhere near capacity and we had a reservation. I thought we took an average amount of time ordering and they rushed us through ordering, dining and paying. Plus there were a ton of gnats flying around our table which was slightly disruptive to the experience. But it was the rushing of the service staff which upset the balance, we still tipped 25% because of the food but having spent time in India with my sister's family I was shocked at this. I was used to a more family like experience from other Indian restaurants I have been to. For that reason, while I might order from Uber Eats cause the food is amazing, I won't go dine there in person again.
