Nestled in the picturesque and historic Holme Valley; tucked away between ancient woodland and the gentle ebb and flow of the winding River Holme… lies Devour, a stone’s throw away from the cobbled streets of Holmfirth.

We’re located in a beautifully restored former Wood Turning Mill and Dyehouse, with Riverside Garden and Wild Flower Meadow, with decor embracing our post-modern industrial heritage with the warmth and energy of an Italian Piazza.

    Local luxury. Wonderful service. Polite and professional staff. Not too expensive as a treat. Beautiful and authentic Italian food.

    The restaurant was in a good location with plenty of parking The restaurant ambience was lovely The staff where polite and attentive The service was really slow from ordering the food to receiving the food For what we had I felt the cost of the food was high

Our high standards of food, service and atmosphere are aspects of the business we are really proud of and I can assure you that your visit does not meet the standards of a service we usually deliver at Devour.     Service ,great knowledge of the menu timing impeccable , from arrival and in between courses . Great food and mock tails . Relaxing tranquil atmosphere . ( Feel like you can take your time ) . Would and do recommend. See you soon .

    We thoroughly enjoyed our 36th wedding anniversary evening. We were looked after very well by all the staff, especially Liv who took the time to look after us and make our evening special. The food was really lovely ( we had pizzas to die for!) The restaurant is beautiful! We can't wait to come again, and will most definitely bring our family . The atmosphere is lovely, we will sit outside another time too - weather permitting. A wonderful place to come, will recommend to all our friends .

    Loved this spot Loads of free onsite parking, great internal decor / ambience, even though it was a warm day it was a good comfortable temperature. Alternatively theres a lot of covered outdoor tables if that takes your fancy Terrific food with generous portions (look smaller than they actually are on most reviews are the plates are oversized so don't be fooled into thinking its small portions), service was well paced and good, prices I thought were fair for the overall experience / quality The Ice cream is a must try really fantastic flavours My only criticism would be whilst music choice was great (love a bit of 80's and Last Shadows Puppets) it was just a little on the loud side - not too excessive but one of our party was hard of hearing and background music if not set right can make it difficult to hear and after all most of us come to talk to the party we are with rather than listen to music. When you are not hard of hearing this can be difficult to understand but unfortunately it comes to a lot of us. Overall though very good and will definitely be back.

    We're regulars at Devour - both outside and inside. On Sunday it was quiet inside - two to three tables max. We waited a while to order our drinks, and then waited about 15-20 minutes for them to arrive (there were two of us), we then had to try and attract the attention of a waitress / waiter to take our food order. We weren't in a rush, but on a warm day it would have been nice to have our drinks sooner and know that our food order was on the way. I wasn't quite sure if it was down to poor leadership by the outdoor waitress in charge, very inexperienced or young staff or - quite frankly - apathy. Not the usual service we've come to expect. Also, very, very limited vegetarian options on the outdoor menu. I didn't really want the main course I had, but there was no other choice - other than pizza which is something I could easily have at home.
