Detour’s selection of share plates enables you to choose dishes to suit your guests with accommodation of dietary requirements a breeze. The full service bar provides beverage options from cocktails to Australian wines. Set in a refurbished industrial building we provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for your event. Catering for all types of functions from birthday dinners to full venue hire, we are happy to tailor events to meet your requirements. We can cater for up to 90 guests for a sit-down function and approximately 120 guests for a stand-up canape event.

Loved it. Food was delicious. Quite memorable in terms of how tasty and different the food was. Best meal I have had in a long time. Highly recommended

Great food and wine list. Loved the way the kitchen worked out the best way to bring out our food choices so it all worked, but was staggered perfectly.

It’s always a terrific experience at Detour which is only enhanced when taking advantage of their September special. Regarded by my favourite Vegan as the best Vegan restaurant in Brisbane and for myself, a committed carnivore, never disappointing. With service that’s experienced and knowledgeable I always leave feeling like I’ve had a high end experience.

Detour is one of my favourite dining experiences for quality of food. Fabulous menu and super delicious food. I’ve been here many times and really enjoyed it. I do feel that improvement could be made to the ambience of the place. This is the one area that always feels lacking to me. Perhaps some candles on the table, or small dim table lamps. Something to add more mood and atmosphere. The decor is nice-ish… but they could make it way more special and appealing with a few additional touches that would give the place a real lift.

The food, it was as fascinating as I expected. Some amazing dishes you have to try, full of flavour. Good serves, 5 dishes between 3 people was more than enough. The service - knowledgeable and unbiased about their dishes, the venue very comfortable and cosy. Clean, ambient and well worth the visit.

The menu continually changes which offers new dishes. The dishes are exceptionally well presented. The food is well prepared and very tasty. Portion size is ok.

For a special, intimate dinner this was perfect. The food was incredible and restaurant beautiful without being pretentious. They were exceptional with food allergies with no compromise on taste and the staff were very helpful. 10/10.
