It was our 1st time there last night and it was amazing!! The wait staff was excellent! The food and wine were top notch! The owner came over and introduced himself! We will be going back soon with friends!

A nice experience for very good italian food. Do not hesitate to give Destino a try. The restaurant lost a star for their choice of music and volume. For 6PM on a Monday night it was less than half full, playing loudish music that IMO could have been in a genre more closely identifying with an Italian restaurant.

A beautiful atmosphere, nice low volume music, the service was excellent and the food is amazing! I went with family so we sample everyone’s food and the pasta’s were all delicious! The vodka sauce was wonderful! And the tiramisu and birthday confetti cake was awesome! Will definitely dine there again.

If you remember "The Chocolate Sanctuary" and how good the food was. Well, we were sad when they closed. Well, now we're HAPPY again, a new restaurant has opened in its place, "Destino Ristorante". Danny S. Legatos, the head chef and owner, has made incredibly delicious and beautiful food. With his rich history in the culinary world and family recipes his touches here hit all our taste buds. To start we ordered the octopus appetizer. I allowed my wife a tentacle. She called over our waitress, Jennifer, and said, "We've eaten octopus all over the world and THIS is the best I've ever had!". I have to admit, it was really good, if not the best, number two most certainly. However, my wife swears it's number one and I'm wrong! For dinner I had the whitefish in lemon sauce, "Pesce al limone". Whoa! That was stop me dead in my tracks awesome! The light and fluffy fish lay on a perfect proportion of spinach. The sauce was a perfect blend of lemon, butter, white wine, capers, and roasted cherry tomatoes. I'll have it again at sometime but next time it'll either be the Halibut or Branzino. My wife had the "Rigatoni alla Norma". Again, Whoa! What a textual and tastebud explosion! The eggplant was cooked perfectly, not mushy or hard as a poorly cooked eggplant would be but, just the right texture and consistency with a through and through flavor profile. The mozzarella was indeed fresh. You can always tell whether its fresh or not. I wonder, did they make it themselves? The arrabbiata sauce made here is NOT a "hot" sauce like a typical Americanize arrabbiata in that a lesser made sauce would kill your taste buds with the chili peppers. This sauce was perfectly blended with garlic, tomatoes and dried chili peppers with olive oil. With a portion size that Katie could not eat completely but, I would have! We ended our meal with a coffee and cappuccino made with Lavazza beans and a slice of "Lemon Italian Cream Cake". Unfortunately, I can't finish my story due to limited spac

We had a reservation for 4 people at 6pm. We were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary. First time dining at Destino's. The bread was great. The entrees were delicious. I had the Hallibut and it was very good. I also ordered the Milestone soup which was a waste of $8, very bland, very light on fillings, mostly bland broth. The prices are steep but a very nice ambience and at the end they delivered a large piece of confetti cake for us to share in celebration of our anniversary and it was delicious! All in all we all agreed to go back another time.

Food and service were outstanding. We started with the shrimp cocktail, big prawns, enough for two people. My filet was delicious, seasoned with a bit of garlic and au jus with vesuvio potatoes. My husband had the ravioli, cleaned his plate! Our server was very attentive. We left very happy and satisfied, making Destino’s Ristorante our new “go to” in our hometown.

Destino serves the best steak I've had in Gurnee. It was substantial, tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. This is now my favorite premium dining spot in town. While Primo and Stevens are great, they don't match Destino's ambiance, friendliness, and character.
