In an attempt to honor the history of our beautiful building, the third Melon Bank ever built, we pay homage to its past! We chose period correct lighting and finishes from 1940 to bring it all together!

Della Terra which translates to “of the earth” transforms the essence of a small town eatery. Centrally located in historic downtown Zelienople, our goal is to capture the warmth and comfort of an Italian trattoria. Chefs reinterprets the bounty of the surrounding area, exploring an ingredient-driven cuisine that pulls inspiration from the Italian cooking tradition to create meaningful food, celebrating the restaurant’s ongoing relationship with its local family of farmers and suppliers.

Apps were good, we ordered drinks. They charge $1.50 for an extra dirty martini. Really our drinks were not even dirty . The pizzas, we ordered 3. 2 came out cold. How is Shay possible from a 800 degree oven. the third was wet. It was a calzone style pizza and the answer from the manager was “it has a lot of ingredient’s”. Seriously? Absolutely not worth driving more than 10 minutes to visit. Better pizza form your local pizza place and better drinks made from a street vendor.

So many rules on a Friday night. Happy hour price must be seated at the bar. Seated at a booth near the bar? Happy hour food prices but not on drinks even though the complete happy hour menu is on your table. What if there is one person seated at the bar and one has to stand? So many rules.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and ordered the “5 course meal for two” in which the chef selects all of the courses. Every single dish was delicious and the portions were large. Wonderful food, unique experience, and a great value. We will certainly be back!

Great food. Antipasta and garlic bread were wonderful. Rigatoni with vodka sauce and the duck were bother very good entrees. No complaints. Prices were very good for the quality of the food.

We have heard so many good things about this place but we’re so disappointed. We did the tasting menu so we could try every part of the menu. The appetizer was good but the salad was so soggy and drenched in dressing. It was hard to eat. The pizza was very good but that’s difficult to mess up. Next was pasta, which we were most looking forward to. They brought us these balls of very soft ricotta with what tasted like hot sausage sauce on them. It was not pasta. I didn’t eat it and my husband ate his but was gagging from the texture. We both told the waitress we didn’t like it when she asked how it was and she just said sorry. I was hoping she would offer to bring us something else, even small, to make up for it. Especially with the price on the menu. Dessert was tiramisu which was good but nothing special.

The food was excellent, this is not your traditional take on Italian food. The design of the restaurant is beautiful. The service staff was very pleasant and prompt. On the downside, the music was not good and seemed out of place for an Italian restaurant and it did take away from our dining experience. I'm not saying we need to hear Frank Sinatra, but certainly some form of modern folk rock did not match the restaurant.
