Food overall was good. Portions quite small, just a note. The duck was tough and hard to chew, not their best dish. I was surprised and shocked by the duck.... I will just chaulk it up to an off night. Service great.

First timer. group of four seated in the booth with a photo of James Beard. The booth allowed the group to talk normally without having to speak loudly. Each shared dish was distinct and delicious. The most memerable one is the anchovy starter that was an explosion of flavour on the first bite.

A neighborhood and San Francisco gem. Food that is predictably good, with friendly service in a really well done space. Unless you're seeking bling (serious, head down to the tourist areas) it's hard to find fault with this place. 25+ years of dependable excellence.

Well, there were a few glitches with this experience, I’m not going to lie. But the house manager and waitstaff took them very seriously & stepped up to fix them in the best way they knew how. So I am giving them all a 5-star rating because of this, because I really appreciated how they handled it. Nonetheless, I have to say, it was very important that they specify that the prix-fixe menu we came there for was NOT vegetarian-friendly even though we told them in our notes we are vegetarian and when the waitress 1st approached us she already knew that. But the 1st course was potato latkes, which can usually be fried in vegetable oil but on this night could only be fried in duck fat! But the menu they sent out in their e-mail didn’t specify that. This sent our whole plans into a tizzy and meant we couldn’t get the prix-fixe meal we came there for. Since this was a special meal before the Yom Kippur fast, it was very important that we not skip dinner, and also we were under time pressure to start fasting at sunset. So there was a huge scramble at the last minute to put together something we could eat. As I said the staff handled this very graciously and in the end the meal we ate was delicious. But I was shocked how remiss Delfina was in not letting everyone know that there was no vegetarian option even though it seemed like there was, and even though we stayed very clearly that we don’t eat meat.

I love Delfina and have eaten there many times. I was dismayed by the lack of vegetarian options last week. The only entrees were pasta pomodoro and a margarita pizza. The only side was butter beans. They used to have many options for vegetarians, which is why I loved going there so much. It’s hard to understand why they didn’t even have a vegetable forward pasta.

Always a pleasure to dine at Delfina. We are outside in the Parklet so there was more street noise but it was a lovely fall evening. The food is excellent, including the complimentary bread and ricotta spread. The Duck entree was sublime and others enjoyed the lamb Meatballs and spaghetti Pomodoro. One of my favorite go-to restaurants in the City.

Perfect experience to share with our out of town guest. The food was amazing as ever and the service friendly and professional. Amazing dinner!
