What Dear John’s is to steak, Dear Jane’s will be to seafood. Seasoned chefs and entrepreneurs Hans Röckenwagner and Josiah Citrin have teamed up again for Dear Jane's. Taking full advantage of the stunning marina view, the focus is on classic American seafood dishes prepared simply with the highest-quality ingredients by seasoned chefs. From Oysters Rockefeller to Shrimp Louie, Surf ‘n Turf and Crepes Zuzette, the menu hews to those of some of the most legendary seafood restaurants of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. It will feel familiar and upscale, yet updated and approachable.

This sensibility will be on full display with hand-mixed tartare, classic caviar service, and professionally fileted whole fish. The layout of the split-level room and spacing between booths and tables are ideal for this personalized service that is begging to come back in style in this dining room.

Our party of four ordered different appetizers and entrées, and everything was exquisite and perfectly created and absolutely delicious. It is truly a hidden gem.

I liked The Dine LA menu. Scampi was good, parfait dessert very good. But here is the deal. I took my husband out for a big birthday. I wrote it down in the rest that it was for his birthday. I told the hostess it was a birthday. I told the waiter it was a birthday, he even congratulated my husband. I was expecting just a candle to celebrate and it was totally forgotten. This became a real disappointment as I wanted something special for him. Everyone was in too big a rush to serve to honor his birthday and I am not sure I can return. It left a hole in the evening.

Wonderful Dine LA meal. Everything was perfect. Loved the nautical ambiance. We’ll be back. Great restaurant for special occasion.

We had a very nice time. I was not a fan of where our table was. It was in a very awkward area. One point I had to get up to allow some people to pass, which was slightly annoying. I would’ve preferred to not be in a high traffic part of the restaurant. The food was good, but For how expensive it is, you don’t get very much. The quality is great but again, smaller portions were disappointing for the high cost. The drinks were very good. Our server was excellent.

This was my first experience at dear Jane’s… I gave it a three out of five because there were so many incredible qualities, but such a vast drop off when it came to quality of the food. Amazing parts: the service was impeccable. The view was impeccable. The decor was impeccable. Ambience and clientele were grear . Unfortunately, the food was not good… Presentation was very very good but the king crab legs were frozen and could barely get any meat out of them. I ordered the signature chicken Parm. I actually felt sick. It was disgusting. It was so gross. It tasted so ultra processed my body just knew it You could tell that the ingredients were disgusting like the heavy heavy breading was dipped in reused soy oil. I eat healthy and well generally and to ruin Dave’s and just quality food and then ruining it with absolutely disgusting low quality food bummer $125. If you’re spending that kind of money should be way better they could be better and they know it.
