We had the most wonderful brunch! The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Maine lobster avocado toast and the biscuits were standout favorites. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a perfect mix of cozy and stylish. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome. It was such a great experience that we’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an exceptional brunch spot!

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the Kimpton Santo and enjoyed a lovely dinner at Dean’s! The bar staff was amazing while we waited for our table. Robert and Jorge were great bartenders. Robert makes incredible mocktails that taste like a real cocktail. He was so kind to put effort into making a craft drink I could actually enjoy. Our Waiter, Gus, was also very friendly. We ordered crab cake as an appetizer and I had scallops. My husband had the original steak, we also shared a side of lobster Mac and cheese. All the dishes were delicious! I would highly recommend Dean’s to anyone in San Antonio that’s looking for a great date night experience in one of the coolest hotels! The ambiance was romantic and warm. Just make sure to make reservations ahead of time, because they are extremely busy.

The service (Jeffrey) was great. Food prices (at brunch) were very reasonable. The Monte Cristo sandwich was THE BEST one I've ever had. Bourbon list is pretty extensive - prices are just ok. Not awful, but not competitive, either.

Went to Dean’s for the first time last Sunday - and immediately booked another reservation three days later. Outstanding experience. The Dover sole was cooked perfectly. The heirloom tomato salad was delicious. The real star was the creamed spinach. Normally not a fan, but my buddy ordered it and I will have this every time now when I come back - which will be frequently!

The ambiance at Dean's was exceptional, thanks to its unique location inside the historic old German school, which is seamlessly connected to the extraordinary Kimpton Santo Hotel. Our server was outstanding—knowledgeable, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations for our table. I thoroughly enjoyed my bone-in steak, which was perfectly marbled and cooked to perfection. I couldn’t resist picking up the bone and savoring every last bite when my guests weren’t looking—it was that good. While the bone marrow appetizer fell short of expectations, the fresh bread and salted butter more than made up for it. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. Dean clearly takes great pride in his steaks, and while the prices are on the higher side, the quality makes it worth every bite and penny.

We consider Dean’s Steak & Seafood one of the best in downtown San Antonio!! The atmosphere was amazing, the service by Nick was by far the best in the business!! The food was outstanding!!! We went for a 7:30 dinner on a Friday. The parking situation is really tough with valet that’s slow managing traffic between two hotels. The service, once seated, was quick and efficient. Really liked our server, David. He was really professional and looked after us well. The real challenge is the food. The seafood apps (Crab Cake and King Crab) were decent but the mains (Dover Sole and Jumbo Lobster Tail) really were disappointing. Overcooked, dry, lacking seasoning. The wine selection was good but the cocktails were subpar. For a meal that was over $350 for two people, it just didn’t deliver. We both felt off by the time we got home from the food.
