Billed as a modern Southern steakhouse, Deacon’s New South will feature a prominent dry-aging room and an exposed kitchen setting with a wood fire grill, as well as two bars, an eclectic lounge and a private area that can be reserved for large parties. Though it was built in the 1950s, the building’s art-deco influences — such as brass and copper details and bold architectural patterns — will be incorporated into the sleek, industrial design of Deacon’s.

Very good food! We had a table right next to the glass, where we were able to launch all the chefs, which was fascinating. Very much enjoyed our self. We did order the cornbread and we weren’t fans of it. To us it was very dry and overcooked, but I don’t know if that’s the way that it’s supposed to be there or not. Other than that everything was very good.

Our service was great. Felt the food was just okay when considering no the price point. The meal lacked seasoning.

Service was amazing from the time we walked in til we left. Food was fantastic. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we had exactly what we needed. And the chef and the manager both came to our table to check on us and make sure our steaks were cooked to perfection. And they were! Great experience! Nice job everyone! Will definitely be back!! Six diners, service was slow, but beyond "nice restaurant" slow. The starters were calamari and a crab cakes. The calamari was just warm, slightly chewy, and the breading flaked off. The crab cake was just average. Our group ordered a range of dry aged steaks and two tenderloins. All the steaks were 'good' but none approached the dry aged greatness one would expect having spent at least $75 on each single steak. The sides were 2 of 3 great. Of the mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and 50/50 potatoes, the Mac and cheese was an absolute standout. The others were suitable but nothing to write home about. The servers were pleasant yet a little forgetful. Overall, I would have thought the meal pretty great should the tab have been in the $400-500 range, but for having spent $800 with tip, I left feeling woefully taken advantage of. Would happily choose Eddy V's over Deacons New South on my next outing for an high dollar steakhouse.

Hi Jesse, I'm very sorry we were not able to live up to our reputation last night. I'm glad there were some highlights to the meal, but our goal to standout on every product was clearly missed. We implemented an entirely new menu about a week and a half ago, and while we have had some wonderful reviews on the dishes, we've also felt some of the growing pains unfortunately. I hope you can give us another shot, as I'm confident we will get to our WOW status very soon! We had a wonderful night. The devil eggs are incredible and all of our steaks were from phenomenal.

It seemed like an off night. First the app - crab cakes came out cold. And then the steak was basically raw. In both cases they were super apologetic and replaced the items. Then we observed tbs manager at the next table going through same drill with another couple’s meal, so it wasn’t just us. The meal itself was just fine… not up to the price or the rating. The waiter was great, but they could have offered a desert or a drink given the circumstances.

We split a 20 oz. aged KC strip steak, the 50/50 potato's, (came out super hot!), and the fried brocolini., and the warm spinach salad. The waitress recommended we add on the truffle butter, which we did and were glad for it. We ordered the steak medium, and the when it came out we felt it was a little too much to the rare side and the waitress got it handled quickly. Other than that, everything was perfect. The manager stopped by our table and offered a little input on the steak. Again, it was a delicious steak, and they handled it quickly to our satisfaction. We were not unhappy in the least, but to our surprise the waitress said they wanted to provide a desert on the house for the inconvenience. We split the bread pudding, which was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was great, and the food couldn't be better.
