I was looking forward to trying this place out. The chef and consortium of outstanding Mexican chefs are what I love to support and have been amazed at their work.
I made reservations for 2. We got there about 5 mins early, and our table was not available. After some fumbling, they sent us to the bar (next door), they didn't know the situation, and so we sat. The host came over and said our 'table' was ready. We sat in a corner at a bar stand.
7:20pm (7pm reservation). We ordered, and within a minute our food came. Who's was this? It was hot. We thought it was maybe appetizers. Nope, main course. We ordered two drinks. One came.
Our waiter did not check in after. This is not a large restaurant. There were three on the floor and an open kitchen. Had no water or even asking how things went.
The host/ busser asked if we needed anything as removing our plates. I declined and asked for the check. The chef or sous asked us how things were, and had an opportunity to make it all go away with dessert or even something. Nope. Nice though, just not in the way of thinking.
Check came, we got moved out, and I double checked as my drink did not come. Mild apologies, and I paid. $70 bucks, two plates, 1 drink, not a date.
We were home by 8pm. A total of a 45 minute date. I made a snack for us after as the entree was more appetizer sized and we went home hungry.
Hope something can be learned by this. I really appreciate the cuisine and concept. Please do a better job executing.
