Dublin's most famous pub, certainly in a literary sense, with its Joycean associations. Always classy and fashionable. It's the original Dublin gastropub at over 100 years old.
Anybody who is familiar with Dublin pub food will be aware of Davy Byrne’s food reputation, in which seafood is the speciality.
If you visit the premises at lunchtime and evening time, you will witness the huge trade which is done in fresh Seafood, Wagyu Burgers and pub classics like Fish & Chips. There is also a full range of Salads and Sandwiches to compliment these and, as often as not, you can enjoy Oysters and Guinness.
The classic Gorgonzola sandwich with a glass of Burgundy as mentioned in Ulysses is available every day.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate strollers/buggies indoors at Davy Byrnes but subject to availability, we can at our outside terraced area. We apologize for any inconvenience.

                                                            I've dined at Davy Byrnes many times - both for lunch, brunch and dinner - and each time is as good as the last. Definitely I would recommend this as one of Dublin's best gastro pubs. Option of indoor or outdoor seating (depending on availability); staff members and reservations manager always pleasant, offering great level of service. Ambience inside always good and outside offers the opportunity to enjoy good nosh 'n grog while watching the world go by on this bustling side street.

                                                            We had reservations so seating was quick. The servers were attentive but not hovering. I had the bream and my wife had chicken. Both were delicious. Drinks and portions were generous. We highly recommend Dave’s Byrnes.

                                                            A Grand Bar-Restaurant. The welcome is warm and the Dublin ambiance exceptional. Though no fakey stage Irishness is in sight, you know where you are. If you have only one dinner in Dublin, this is where to have it.

                                                            We had a lovely meal here on our last night in Dublin. Our waiter was attentive and everyone enjoyed their meals!

                                                            We went on a Sunday afternoon and instead of ordering a traditional meal we opted for a selection of their nibbles. Oysters, tempura prawns, cod croquettes, deep fried Gorgonzola, tempura cauliflower wings and a side of chips. Everything was delicious, washed down with great Guinness and a few glasses of a delicious Goose Beret New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The staff are very pleasant and helpful but a special word of praise for Alexandra, a real asset to the business

                                                            Eaten here on & off for over 30 years but sadly worse meal I’ve had. Tempura prawns batter soggy & prawns tasty smoky & odd, cod croquettes to big ..like tennis balls & just full of potato with hardly any cod. Irish stew for mains was the biggest disappointment - had many a great stew here over the years but stew was lifeless normally the lamb & spuds run through creating a thickness …this stew was thin, tasty like chicken stock with the lamb & cubed potatoes thrown in…use to be my go to place when in Dublin!

                                                            Davys is s lovely place to have lunch. My friend had steak sandwich and she said it was lovely. I gad tge roast chicken it was very small as usual but this time it was very dry

                                                            Lovely wait staff, and food was tasty. Small round tables pushed together to seat four people and loud 70s music didn’t make for nicest atmosphere though.
