Situé au pied du quartier des arts de Portland au Monument Square, le chef et propriétaire David Turin a déménagé le David's Restaurant à cet emplacement historique en 1998. Le restaurant est décoré avec goût et créativité et rend hommage au "Great Fire", seul bâtiment sorti indemne de ce feu en 1866. La cuisine ouverte vous permettra d'observer la création des repas tous composés d'ingrédients locaux et qui sont préparés de façon originale. La cuisine de David a un pied dans la tradition et l'autre dans les influences contemporaines de la plupart des grandes cuisines du monde.     David’s has historically been a solid choice. But tonight we could not have been more disappointed. Both appetizers and one of the entrées were cold. The other entrée was hot, but the sauce had seized. The service was nice, but we felt rushed the entire dinner. Dessert was great! We typically do not leave reviews, but needless to say, we will not be returning to David’s anytime soon.

    Everyone in our party of 8 LOVED their meal! Great service & atmosphere. We were seated in the room in the back which was really nice. Definitely coming back!

    The food was delicious and well flavored. I didn’t mind my seating at all because I got to interact with the chefs. Watching food be skillfully made, actually made me more hungry. Good experience overall.

    Disappointing, Not the best this time. Had a Reservation, three of us, for 5:00pm as we had tickets for 7:00pm La Boheme at Merrill Auditorium. We arrived right on time, were seated, got wine, but then waited for a long time. We did not get served our meal 'til 6:15pm [an hour and 15 minutes we sat there!] and then felt rushed to eat to get out the door at 6:30pm. We noticed others who arrived after us get their meals before us. What's Up? And I hate to say it but this time the Food was mediocre. I had been to David's before the Nutcracker at Merrill and everything was fine. The Flank Steak was delicious and so I was hoping to get the same again. But instead, on the menu, it was just a big square chunk of steak, nothing special. It was disappointing.

    I have been to David's many times, and this visit, like all of my visits, met all of my expectations. We went a bit early, so it was quiet; I don't know what the noise level would be when they are busy. What I do know is that the food was excellent, the waitress delightful, and the ambiance inviting. I will always go back to David's when I am in the area. Their excellence is consistent.

    It had probably been 10 years since my last time at David's, but it's just like I remember. Chill atmosphere, good service, tasty food. Doesn't matter what you order, it will be very satisfying. Hopefully it won't be another 10 years until my next trip there.
