I was really looking forward to dining at Davanti's in Naperville. It was my girlfriends birthday and I requested a table away from the bar and kitchen...they put us next to the bathrooms. We ultimately ended up back in the bar sitting at a high top which was OK. The waiter was nice but very pushy about the wine and matching with our meal, we ended up just getting a glass of the Chardonnay which was overpriced. We started with the Calamari, which came fairly quickly and was accompanied with a salsa type topping on the side. then everything went downhill from there. We ordered the "SPECIAL" Scallop Risotto with peas and corn. The Scallops were undercooked - hardly any sear on the outside, the peas and corn were cold and the risotto was soupy and almost uneatable. It looked like a Scallop Pot Pie !!! I also requested a side of bread and butter not knowing it would come at the end of our meal and cost me a few dollars because it was toasted/seared. Now, the Open Table reservation asked if the dinner was a special occasion...I checked "Birthday Dinner" as one of their options thinking it would be taken care of by the restaurant when we ordered dessert. Nope, I had to request it after I ordered our dessert. Why do you ask when taking the reservation if you are not going to make an effort. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant.

Menu had enough variety, without being overly long. The pasta and risotto dishes we chose were both very good and our server was helpful in choosing wine parings that also fit our tastes. Service was courteous and professional. Meal was thoughtfully paced. Excellent wine selection. The restaurant was lovely, and the ambience could have been wonderful, except for the very loud, fast paced, electronic music playing over the sound system. My partner and I could not even hear each other enough to have a conversation. The host initially said he could not turn the music down because of 'corporate policy; but did eventually and, while the electronic 'disco' beat was annoying and didn't really fit the character of the space or food, we managed to talk and had a really nice evening.

The food was extraordinary. Drinks were strong! My pasta was the spicy squid ink pasta and it was phenomenal

We weren’t greeted for the first 10 mins after we were seated, then after we received our food, the waiter never came back. Servers, bussers and what looked to be a manager kept walking right past us while we would see everyone hanging by the kitchen talking instead of checking on us, refilling our drinks or asking if we needed boxes. The food was tasty, but due to this experience I wouldn’t return.

A+ Absolutely amazing. The service and the food including a few drinks were excellent. You can tell they really care about the food and quality. The calamari was fresh and crispy. The chicken thighs, burgers, and scallops were all really good. The caramel sea salt cake with ice cream was life changing. All in all a fantastic restaurant in downtown Naperville. We will definitely return. Gabi the server and the manager all treated us very well. 100%
