From Long Shot Hospitality, the team behind Washington, D.C.’s beloved restaurant, The Salt Line, Dauphine’s creates a transportive experience inspired by the playful city of New Orleans. Led by Chef Douglas Alexander in tandem with Chef/Partner Kyle Bailey, Dauphine’s utilizes Mid-Atlantic ingredients to prepare classic New Orleans fare while also creating original dishes inspired by the iconic city. Located within the Midtown Center, at the site of the former The Washington Post building, guests can visit Dauphine’s for brunch, happy hour, or dinner in an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.

The meal was delicious and our server was great! The only issue we had was when we first came in and we checked in for our reservation. They told us they would sit us shortly, but the host who checked us in stepped away to show another guest their patio. Another couple came in after us and the other host sat them immediately. She then looked at us and asked if we had been helped.

Celebrated my son’s birthday. Food was great. Service too. Waiter brought us the “other” dessert we were deciding between as a birthday surprise.

Extremely good food and ambiance. The location is prime too for finding a spot for a drink afterwards. Very friendly and attentive staff as well.

Very cool looking restaurant. A unique creole restaurant in the center of the city. Servers seemed pretty busy but they helped each out a lot which was good to see. Check this place out!

The food is excellent, service is attentive, and the drinks were interesting and delicious . I am excited to take friends to try out more of their menu. The blackened catfish and peanut butter jelly are exceptional dishes that are top notch.

We went to Dauphine for dinner during restaurant week. There was a New Orleans theme. It was an enjoyable experience. We were seated promptly. Service was excellent and we didn’t feel at all rushed. The portions were ample with no leftovers to take home. We both had the catfish entree, which was delicious. The bananas foster was an unusual presentation that was delicious. Would definitely return.

We've been to Dauphine's several times, and had enjoyed it greatly until Restaurant Week. We got the special menu and were very disappointed in the food - it was good but certainly not great and did not live up to their previous standards. The service, however, was fantastic - really top-notch. But the real kicker was the noise level - just about impossible to have a conversation. The "Loud Environment" alarm on my Apple Watch went off three times during dinner - each time over 90 dB.

Summer restaurant week menu. Good service but the food was hit or miss. First course Gumbo was delicious and the chaurice sausage plate was quite filling and well balanced with the chow chow and the compote. Second course was more of a miss. The ricotta cavatelli was void of collard green pesto and calabrian chili, and the fresh pasta was undercooked. The beef sirloin was a bit tough and the sauce lacked any acidic balance or brightness. The bananas foster semifreddo was great. The beignets were completely average and a bit dough-y.
