We are an award-winning restaurant with a beautiful waterfront location in Derby. We offer you classic British and European dishes with a modern twist, within a 200-year old former mill building: Darley Abbey Mills.

We also have two outdoor terraces so if you prefer, you can enjoy al-fresco drinks overlooking the River Derwent prior to your dining experience. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Darleys creates incredible flavours and stunningly-presented dishes that will delight you, all paired with the perfect wine or cocktail to make your experience complete.

From start to finish, the dining experience, the gentleman who served us and the food was fantastic. We came on the 25th September 2024 for our three year wedding anniversary. We had the most incredible evening. The cocktails were beautifully made, our waiter was so attentive, soft spoken and charming and the food was amazing. I was not a fan of the quince cheese or jelly on the cheeseboard, but that is to do with my taste alone, not a reflection on the chefs amazing skills. The lovely surprise at the end, with a little taster of desserts for our anniversary was the cherry on top - I went home dreaming of that rose and white chocolate fudge. Thank you again, we have decided that we shall be coming here for every anniversary as a special treat. See you next year!

The restaurant has always been a favourite go to. Service and food never disappoints. Over the years it has built a good reputation. Today’s Sunday lunch was excellent, as was the service. We shall keep returning.

We've been a few times and it's always been good, it's a nice place for a celebration meal, it's not cheap but very good. Seven of us came for a meal on Friday and it didn't disappoint, we all had 3 courses and each enjoyed them all. It isn't a big menu, 4 starters, 5 mains and 4 desserts but a good enough choice and everything we had was lovely. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a Friday evening but that's fairly common nowadays I think. My only criticism, is that I had the Lamb Cannon and only got two small pieces of lamb, which, whilst it was delicious, for £35 I really should have had more, so I can't say I got VFM on my meal.

The food was nicely presented but the taste was dull, the mushroom soup was very salty, the meat parts had a weak flavour

High-class restaurant. The Michelin Star was, is and will remain there for a reason! It is fully and truly recommended.
