We are an award-winning restaurant with a beautiful waterfront location in Derby. We offer you classic British and European dishes with a modern twist, within a 200-year old former mill building: Darley Abbey Mills.

We also have two outdoor terraces so if you prefer, you can enjoy al-fresco drinks overlooking the River Derwent prior to your dining experience. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Darleys creates incredible flavours and stunningly-presented dishes that will delight you, all paired with the perfect wine or cocktail to make your experience complete.

We had a lovely sparkling wine breakfast, the food was delicious and came at a steady pace. We wasn’t keen on the sparkling wine, the coffee and orange juice were lovely! 🥰

Had the 9 course taster menu. Each course was excellent, although it was funny that dashi featured in the first three courses. It didn’t matter and we would have gladly drunk gallons. The only picky point was that I told them I am gluten intolerant on the booking and when we arrived, but still got given multiple courses with gluten ingredients. If I had assumed that they were correct, it could have been messy.

Overall the food is outstanding. The reason service stars are low is due to the fact that when ordering the waitress did not know how the duck was cooked and did not offer to find out. A 10% service charge was then automatically added to our table of 2 which I do not agree with.

Staff were attentive polite and nothing was too much trouble for them Meals wow just wow .. Every mouthful was delicious. Would highly recommend Delightful Saturday lunch .⭐⭐⭐⭐

Darleys never lets us down. We had the seven course taster menu. The food was exceptional and service excellent with the waiter explaining at the start of each course what the meal consisted of. He was obviously well trained and very knowledgeable.

Beautiful food and very good service with amazing ambiance. Cant recommend it enough, especially for a special occasion.

As usual, exceptional service and food. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Staff went above and beyond and we went away fit to burst. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you

Very happy with the standard of the food. Difficult to get great ambience when only a few tables occupied. Glad I had a sweater on otherwise I would have been cold - or had to wear my coat. They advertise a complimentary drink with that menu but don’t offer it to you when you get there which is pretty disappointing.

Enjoyed our breakfast at Darleys…..food was lovely. Had a lovely view and the sun was shining. Wasn’t very busy but we were looked after well. Will return.

Really enjoyed the 7 course meal. Top level standard. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.
