We are an award-winning restaurant with a beautiful waterfront location in Derby. We offer you classic British and European dishes with a modern twist, within a 200-year old former mill building: Darley Abbey Mills.

We also have two outdoor terraces so if you prefer, you can enjoy al-fresco drinks overlooking the River Derwent prior to your dining experience. We’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Darleys creates incredible flavours and stunningly-presented dishes that will delight you, all paired with the perfect wine or cocktail to make your experience complete.

We had Sunday lunch. The gravy on all the roast meat dishes was far too salty. My pork belly was also too salty, and not particularly soft. The beetroot risotto starter was also over-seasoned. The other starters seem to have been ok, with the artichoke veloute being praised. The background music in the restaurant was also rather loud and intrusive. We've eaten at Darley's before (not on a Sunday) and enjoyed both the food and the ambience. This experience was a distinct dissappointment.

We had the 5 course taster menu, whilst the flavours were nice, the majority of the menu was pureed food and we came out absolutely starving. We appreciate it was a taster menu and so portion sizes are small, but we've had taster menus elsewhere and never before have we left hungry.

Food was pretty average minuscule and the wine they advertised on menu ( Shiraz ) was 7% and pretty dreadful,No one told us that Also you used to have beautiful little hand made rolls and different butters No bread was delivered ,found out you had to pay for it Finally it arrived ( a huge door step ) after we had been given starters at least 5 minutes before This restaurant has always been expensive but the service ,food,drink were all first class NOT any more The whole experience was over priced mediocrity

Slow service, food was ok but portion size was ridiculous for the price. Tiny piece of beef. Wouldn't go back.

My partner and I are massive fans of Darley’s and love our visits there. However, on this occasion (Friday) it was a little lacking. Everything felt a little rushed, consecutive courses out too quickly leaving little time to enjoy the ambience and socialise. Don’t get me wrong, the staff were friendly and the food was good. The owner is usually present along with a Sommelier and they always provide a first class, attentive dining service and experience.

Bistro menu is such good value for money. Excellent cooking great service and a good choice of wine. Outside is spectacular in the summer overlooking the river. Looking forward to trying the taster menu they do at the weekend with entertainment too. Only down side is it's difficult to park

A pleasant atmosphere to dine in. The food was good and well refined. Service welcoming and very good. We enjoyed our meal and will return in the future. Car parking is an issue particularly for those who have mobility issues. We do not have mobility issues but it would be something we would have to consider when we wish to dine with our friends. A recommendation for suitable places to park would be most helpful.

Great day to celebrate Father’s Day for my husband, we had Sunday lunch three course and it was beautiful Chris and Winnie are great chefs Winnie the desserts were beautiful Chris the Sunday lunch was delicious!! Thank you Carlos for the great service and being attentive to us throughout our meal
