Menu not as advertised on web site - staff explained that a limited kitchen was operating - surely this should have been advertised on the site. Found the restaurant to be scruffy and seemed to be an ‘afterthought’ tucked away in a corner - lovely characterful room but tables were not laid, some had dirty plates etc not cleared and nothing welcoming ie: candles/flowers or nice lighting. Food was ok but very slow to arrive - not a great choice and 1 order was wrong when it arrived. No fault of staff - they are doing their best with what they have to work with and were cheerful and engaging. Had drinks in the bar before our meal which was lovely but the restaurant experience let down our evening - was my husband’s 60th birthday (which the restaurant were aware of) and no mention of this or a simple special touch which we thought would have made a big difference. Shall not be using this restaurant again!

I would imagine our experience would have been lovely if they had honoured our booking... Turned up on time looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch to be told the chef has decided he's not opening the kitchen until 5pm... Our booking was for 2pm....in there defence I had missed a call from reception the day before obviously cancelling my booking... Would just like to point out that I had travelled from Lincoln to take a friend out for her birthday who lived in mosborough...... Never fear though the phoenix at ridgeway saved the day and was packed to the rafters with an obviously open kitchen.....thankyou the phoenix at ridgeway for saving the day on a very busy bank holiday Sunday 👌

Our booking was for a Thursday evening. We were informed on the day of our booking that the restaurant was closed due to there being no gas for cooking in the kitchen. However we could dine from the bar menu. We did this and the food was far from satisfactory. The vegetables that came with the fish pie (kale and carrots) were dry and unappetising. The other dishes that were chosen were disappointing. I got the impression that everything had been microwaved. The staff were helpful in as much as they deducted 10% from our food bill. However we will be very unlikely to bother dining here again. The whole experience was very disappointing

An amazing lunch and as we came midweek during the day it was practically empty. Service was great, server was polite and friendly. Drinks and food were excellent. Will be going again.

Meal was fine however service slow and lots of staff and only 4 tables to serve and out of slot of drinks

4th Dec Christmas meal, lovely and quiet, food was fabulous, and the staff amazing, didn't get the guys name,but he was great, real.asset to mosborough hall, very friendly and attentive. My friend had lamb, she said it was the best she had eaten in a long time. Lovely evening.

On a Sunday no actual menu, it’s a roast. We had the veggie welling which was acceptable. As it’s a two course menu ordered the apple and rhubarb crumble which was disgusting. The waiter was nice, he didn’t charge for dessert. All this with a napkin that shed bits all over me because it was perishing. Advice is go out elsewhere if you stay at this, overall, grotty hotel.

Great foid and service. Needed more staff on the bar later on when wedding guests decended. The young girl who served us food was multitasking with the bar. She deserves credit.
