Dametra Cafe is a casual Mediterranean restaurant. Here, diners can expect high-quality healthy food delivered quickly in a relaxed atmosphere. The decor and styling of the dining room is distinctly Greek, specifically like one of the many coastal cities that the country is known for. Between that and the hearty portions and prompt service, Dametra Cafe sits nicely between an upscale restaurant and quick-service places.Dametra's Cafe features primarily Greek cuisine, with some Italian and Spanish thrown in for good measure. Appetizers include hummus with pita bread, fried calamari, grilled jumbo prawns and steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce. The meals are split between sandwiches, pasta and entrée offerings and features dishes such as shrimp and crab ravioli, a salmon burger with red onion and tomatoes, lamb shish kebab and a Greek style lamb shank with rice pilaf and fresh vegetables.

What an amazing place!! It was lively. Fun, energetic. Staff were attentive. Food was great. They get their customers get involve with their music and their little mini performance. We celebrated our anniversary and my fiancé birthday and she loved it!! Thank you all for making it memorable!!

Very good place for a date night! Good variety on the menu for my vegetarian wife, as well as for the meat lover that I am ! Ambience was great! They definitely pack them in, and the noise level gets a little loud when they come out and do the music but it’s well worth it! Definitely adds a touch of Mediterranean ambience.

From the moment we were warmly welcomed in until we finished our delicious food, we had the best time! The service is phenomenal, and the food is even better! The ambiance is so fun. We kept it a surprise from our guests just how fun it could be! We've been several times and have never been disappointed by anything at Dametra Cafe. We highly recommend it for a special occasion, or just to spice up your week! You will be glad you went!

Lamb shanks were outstanding as was the moussaka. Shanks fell off the bone and were moist and tender. Fresh veggies were sautéed and tasty. Scalloped potatoes were balanced with the Gruyere nicely balanced not overwhelming. Moussaka was meaty with a slight touch of cinnamon. The service was prompt and courteous. The manager spoke with us a couple of times during dinner as did the owner. An added bonus was live music every 20 minutes or so with the bartender playing the bongos. This was a great dining experience with a reasonable price

Disappointed. We had one night in Carmel with my goddaughters and choose Dametra for the lively music and atmosphere. There was no music and no atmosphere. Definitely no “family” vibe. We were rushed through or meal I assume because we did not order alcohol. In fact, they cleared everyone’s plates while I was still eating. It was strange to be the only one at the table eating when no one else even had plates in front of them. My salmon was not cooked all the way but I chose to eat it because my goddaughters couldn’t wait to get out of there. They had hopes for a fun night but were so disappointed. I wish we had gone elsewhere as suggested by others.

We have been dining at Dametra for years. We understand ownership has changed. We remember the food to be much better. Prices have gone up a lot.

This place was great! We got a sweet window table. The service was good, the food was fresh and delicious and the intermittent live music was so fun. Oh and the baklava! Oh my!
