Located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale and walking distance from the beach shore, Dal Contadino Trattoria is a celebration of rustic homestyle Italian cuisine. Indulge in a relaxing ambiance while enjoying handmade pastas, a catch of the day, Tuscany steak and daily specials crafted by Chef Nuccio.

Live Music on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays.
Social Mondays: 1/2 OFF cocktails, $2 meatballs/each. Wine Tuesdays: 1/2 OFF bottles of wine up to $100.
Happy Hour: special menu offering select food and drinks, everyday from 4-6 pm at the bar and bar area only.

Terrible experience… It started with how we were greeted. We had a 7:00 reservation but showed up 30 minutes earlier which seemed to cause problems. We were offered another (bad) table after we were told there would not be room before 7:15 (double standard?). The waiter did not know anything and for each question we had, his answer was “I need to check”… Another waiter splashed some warm pasta sauce on my wife’s arm when serving the table behind us without even apologizing and the waiter repeatedly poured wine outside the glasses. The bruschettas we ordered were nothing close to what a bruschetta is (it was a cheese crostini with microscopic pieces of su dried tomatoes). The chef refused to split a lasagna into 2 plates for the kids but the waiter made up for this after we strongly insisted for having it done. Half of us got a main course that was not warm enough and my wife was given gluten-free fusilli pastas after ordering gluten-free spaghetti (the waiter had “checked” and told us they had both types of gluten-free pastas while the person who brought the plate said they only had fusillis…). I may forget other small details such as nobody but the waiter thanking us on our way out but this list seems long enough to support the label of a terrible experience. Never again!

Full disclosure… NY restaurant snob here! Additionally expecting premiere service … Dal Contadino is hands down the best Italian restaurant in Ft Lauderdsle and the service is not good it is perfection!!! Simply put, if you don’t dine here … you are missing out. Last night we had a party of 7 … family, holiday, 2 birthdays… we were met at the door by our regular server, Sophia. Sophia is that server who does not meet your needs - she anticipates them. She was sure that everyone had a special evening … from perfect apps and cocktails right down to candles on the birthday desserts. It is not enough to say that her service is outstanding… because it is better than that…it is the best you will have anywhere! (Note: It is no easy task to get 7 varied and perfectly prepared meals to the table at the same time Sophia and her helper accomplished that flawlessly!) Of course, Chef Nuccio took the time to visit our table and welcome everybody… this has become a “home” to all of us and he calls us family! He and his wife Kremena are always most gracious and welcoming. We dine here very often … because it is the best. No request is too big to accommodate… no detail is too small to forget. Dal Contadino is much more than a restaurant it is truly an experience. When you are finished reading this… go to the Open Table app or dial their number +1 954 900 2714 and make a reservation… it will be the best thing you do today ! PS - They also just opened a private party room… great for birthdays, wedding rehearsal dinners, business gatherings, club meetings etc…. Schedule your next event there today ! Go … you will like it ! I will most likely see you there !!!!!!!

We love this place and it never disappoints, we arrived for our reservation, was sat right of way, the chef was singing and the whole place was lit, we love the energy. We ordered the artichokes, the pear dish and the lobster pasta, and for dessert we ordered the hazelnut mousse and it was divine. We will definitely be back again.

Through the entire dinner we felt rushed. We haven’t even got the appetizers and they keep coming back to get our main course order. For a party of 6 they were ready to get us out in 60 minutes, despite ordering appetizers, main course and dessert. Food was good, except for the special of the day ravioli stuffed with sausage. Music was nice but too loud. I like going out to enjoy a meal and not be rushed.

Understanding it was Christmas our reservation was at 5:45 and we arrived at 5:30 and was seated quickly. Our waited provided water and then forgot about us. When we finally got him over to take our order he tried to have us order a bottle of wine when all we wanted were a glass each. When we did not want that he walked away. We got him over again after he took the order of a 6 top who came in after our 2 top. At 6 p.m. they were out of anything we wanted and again tried to have us order their special "7 Fishes" which was not what either of wanted. My feeling is that the restaurant was ill prepared for the reservations taken. All the waiter did was make excuses. The atmospher was loud and chaotic. We left and had a great meal down the street at Thassos where the atmosphere was festive, food was excellent and service impeccable.

I didn’t expect the menu to be a Christmas menu. I don’t know why, but I didn’t. I expected to be watering off the original menu The ambience in the atmosphere in there was fine. The table seemed a little too close. For Christmas, I found the prices, challenging and high The musical entertainment wasn’t expected for a restaurant setting during Christmas. The music was loud. He pounded the keys on the keyboard. The music was not conducive to an Italian restaurant. I’ve been to the restaurant before. I have always enjoyed the food and I would go back.

My family went there for Christmas dinner and had the Feast of the Seven Fishes, Lamb Shank, Gnocchi, and Parpadelle pasta, all delicious. Appetizers and bread were great, and you must try the pear martini. Wonderful evening with great service!
