Da Vinci , a traditional and casual Italian eatery in Waltham. Here, Chef Peppino will bring to you authentic Italian cooking that is accompanied by exceptional service and a warm and comfortable ambiance reminiscent of being transported to Italy itself.

We pride ourselves on using only the finest ingredients and sourcing from local organic products whenever possible. Our food, including our pastas and sauces are all house made and the authentic preparation of each dish highlights its natural and fresh flavors. The result is truly a difference you can taste with each bite. Our wine list features selections from Italy and the United States that serve to complement the dishes on our menu and we are always happy to accommodate any allergies or dietary restrictions.
After ten years at La Campania , Chef Peppino opened his own restaurant in Boston Shortly after the opening the restaurant, Da Vinci was recognized by the James Beard Foundation as “the notable new restaurant in Boston.”

The food was very poor. The lasagna was an oily mess of cheese and overcooked pasta. The fish was dry and overcooked and the carbonara was flavourless other than salt.

Service started strong but as it got busy the service was extremely slow. Food does come out quickly once ordered. Fried seafood appetizer was not worth it…very overdone. Meatballs were very small and only two per appetizer. Arancini was tasty. Salmon dish was good. Chicken parm was ok; it could come with more pasta. Saltimboca was good. Why have a pizza oven if it isn’t in use?

The food and service was great! However, my complaint was with the seating. I requested a regular table and when I arrived I was the only customer inside. I was seated at a high top, which I struggled to get into, and the gap between the chairs and table was minimal, I barely fit my thighs. I had to request to move which was accommodated. The second table was better but still not great. Just FYI for anyone wanting to see high top next to the windows!

I had heard great things about the Sudbury location so we decided to try this place. The restaurant was quite, not too many people, considering it was Saturday night. The 2 restaurants on each side (Tempo & Amuleto) were very busy, even at 9:30pm when we left. We chose to sit outside as it was a nice night but the car/motorcycle noise was at time annoying. The waiter and waitstaff were very attentive. We ordered some apps, the calamari was overcooked but it was good. The Italian sausage was average and the burrata with tomato & basil was good. I ordered the chicken parm and it was good, big portion. My husband ordered the beef tenderloin and even thought hey asked him how he wanted it cooked (medium), it was overcooked. Our friend ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle FraDiavolo and it was very average and his wife got the Masala Ravioli and again, it was average. We found the prices to be high for the quality of food. Not sure we'll try again.

Restaurant was almost empty on a Saturday night. Service and attentiveness was excellent. Food was good but nothing great. Ceasar salad did not have much taste. The bed of lettuce that the salmon was on was almost pure lemon juice. Gelato for dessert tasted more like icecream and was filled with ice crystals. AC was blasting at the table we were seated. I had requested standard table but they started to seat us at a high top and then we asked to be moved. We were moved to the back of the restaurant and it was freezing. We asked the server who checked and said they couldn't turn off the blower. She offered to move us but we declined since it would have been move #2.

We were charged for an entre but ordered a side. Did not see a hapoy hour. The chef was the bartender the cook and the server. Confusing place.
