Welcome! Our Central Coast beach-side location holds beautiful views with a casual atmosphere. An excellent dining experience is our top priority. Our menu has something for everyone…fresh fish, hand cut steaks, refreshing salads and our specialty appetizers. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Come and have a drink at our cocktail bar, or dine on our outdoor patio while gazing out across the beautiful San Luis Bay.

This is a great place for for a relaxing afternoon. Our server was on top of his game. Great view and ambience. The food was pretty good and we also had two scoops of ice cream for our B’dAy guys. They share the same birthdays!!!!

Our waiter (Kat) was very kind and accommodating. The restaurant definitely seemed understaffed and the kitchen totally butchered our order. We asked to speak to the manager about our poor service and after explaining the kitchen’s mistakes, he didn’t even apologize and his reaction was unprofessional. Love Avila beach and want to support local businesses. Hopefully this Custom House improves their customer service in the future.

Our server, David was very attentive. He checked on preparation methods for my shellfish allergy, which was very nice. Although everyone seems to be complaining about the new menu, we actually missed some of our old favorites, but the prices were good and the meal was good. We never opt for the bread, so it was nice not having to tell them we didn’t want it and the non-alcoholic drink options are plentiful. We hadn’t been to the restaurant about a year, but we still enjoyed it.

I ordered the sea bass and wife ordered the prime rib.....wow!! Both were absolutely yum factor.

Best thing about this place is the location- we had a booth with a great view of the water. Service and food were average, nothing special. I didn’t like that they would put parsley in the oysters.

Sadly the menu changed and with that seemingly went the quality. This used to be one of my favorite places to bring out of town guests, but after last nights dinner, we won’t be back for dinner service. My meal was not good at all. The appetizer of coconut shrimp was weird tasting, the sauce is different and had a strong mustard taste which did not go well with the coconut shrimp. They now charge for their bread, which came out 20 minutes after my meal had, basically as we were finishing and the tops of the rolls were very hard. The pasta dinner I had ordered was not appetizing at all, the sausage was very spicy, besides the pasta noodles there were minimal additions and the sauce was barely there but very bland. It was my daughter’s birthday and despite telling them at the front desk, nobody did or said anything. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE.

Although the Fish and chips tasted good, it was quite small portions. The nachos came out cold, but they were quick to warm them up in the oven. This was evident by the slightly burnt chips. The service was excellent or waitress was great.

The service was great. We had reservation and didn't need to wait for table after we arrive. The food in general was good. I had fish and chips. While the fish was good, the fries looked like they came from the bottom of the barrel. They were very greasy and included crumbled up fries.
