In the late 1800’s, Royal Street was home to a famous “curio” shop, a place where curiosities from all over the world could be had for a dollar or two. Today, the shop is no more, but the feeling of excitement and wonder still exists on Royal Street today. And so in the heart of the most premier art district in New Orleans, we’re bringing back the curiosity – reintroducing New Orleans to a circus of flavor so vibrant it makes other restaurants nearby pale in comparison.

    The food selection appeared to be interesting but unfortunately fell a bit short of expectations. The crawfish étouffée had a rather unpleasant “fishy” taste, the shrimp and grits are a bit stiff, and the shrimp po-boy is basic. Overall an acceptable meal, but nothing jaw dropping.

    My wife and I dined at Curio Restaurant in the French Quarter on Saturday night. The food was average and the service was good, with fair pricing. However, the experience was marred by the cleanliness of the restaurant. We noticed a crushed shrimp on the floor near our table that remained there throughout our meal, despite several servers stepping over it. Overall, the restaurant did not stand out and lacked attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment.

    Absolutely delicious from the chicken and waffles to the bloody Mary’s. The restaurants ambience, along with its waiters and waitresses were beautifully New Orleans. Highly recommend this place.!

    The food was amazing but service wasn’t great. We went the whole meal without having waters refilled and took a long time for us to put in orders. It wasn’t very busy but we were sat upstairs so maybe that was the issue. The food was outstanding — I recommend the crawfish etouffe and the s’mores brownie!

    We had a wonderful meal on the outside upstairs balcony. It was quick but everything was really spot on for us. We got food right away. It was prepared and plated well. Drinks were great and simple. Service was fast and efficient.

    Disappointed they didn’t do anything for birthdays. Why bother asking if the reservation is for a special occasion if it doesn’t really matter? Got sat at a crappy table right by the door, the noise level was so high could not hear the people sitting right next to me. Service was lacking over all. Food was good, which in the end was the most important.
