Overall food was just ok… chef seemed unwilling to take pork out of a simple starter, a few dirty pieces of silverware, some missing silverware, etc. One dish, the whipped feta and tahini comes with balsamic vinegar (which a few of us don’t or can’t eat) and it’s nowhere in the listed items of ingredients… and it swims in it! Same thing in a few other dishes… that was disappointing but we realized it wasn’t worth complaining because the staff is super nice, friendly, and it really is a nice atmosphere. Go for beers and cocktails.. to watch a game… not for the food. (Or at least expect bar quality food at best)

I chose this restaurant because I typically enjoy it. However on this night my waitress was awful. She couldn’t accurately answer questions and didn’t seem very focused. My food was off as well. I had a simple Cesar salad with steak. The steak was greasy and the romaine tasted as if it had been washed in lemon juice.

My girlfriend and I always choose Culinary Dropout as our go-to date night in Charlotte. She gets an espresso martini or two and we split the pretzel bites and a plate of the steak frites. Every time we go the atmosphere is amazing and we are treated so well! The food and drinks always come out to perfection, and the waiters/managers always check on you at an appropriate rate. This is a place where you can go get an amazing meal and know the vibe will be perfect every time. We both recommend this place to all our friends and Culinary Dropout will continue to be a staple for our date nights!

Food and atmosphere was amazing. Service was terrible. We waited for 20 minutes for our server to greet us at the table. She was writing our orders on her hand and forgot each order multiple times. Luckily the food was delicious which made our night end on a positive note. The atmosphere and live music was great.

It was alright. Nothing special. Better than bar food, but not quite worth the price. The best thing we had was a biscuit.

In the beginning, our server was kind and seemed happy to be there. She was excited it was our first time and explained to us how the menu worked, etc. Our drinks and food came out quick, however my pasta came out lukewarm at best. I didn’t want to say anything at all because I hate complaining, but even if I wanted to, it was like our server never came back once the food came, which someone else brought. We were low on water and our drinks by the time she finally came back. We asked for two more drinks and water refills and she asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. We said yes, and this was the last we saw of her for over 30 minutes and then I grabbed her attention and she came over with a check which didn’t have our drinks on it so they clearly hadn’t been even rung in. I told her we were waiting on the drinks and dessert menu and she was kind of just pushing the check. I said we still wanted the drinks and gave up on the dessert menu at that point. It had been like 15 more minutes and she walked by saying that the bar was catching up. 10 more minutes go by and she is coming over with the wrong drinks. One was what my fiancé had before but the other was completely different. When we told her what we had ordered she almost seemed annoyed. I don’t know how much time passed before the drinks actually came but she said she would just run the check without the drinks which we thought was nice. Then a manager came over 15 minutes later with the check and was explaining to us that the check was wrong and this was the new check. Well, that check had the drinks we did order on it AND the two she rang in that we did not order. I was really uncomfortable because the manager was kind of acting like we were being difficult. Then the type of bourbon changed increasing the price on each ticket. Then the server came with the last check showing only the total, not showing us items, asking if this total was correct. It was just really awful and we won’t be back.

They clearly didn’t prepare for Christmas Eve dinner. Multiple entrees were not available. What we ended up getting was just ok. My entree was entirely too spicy and I’m one that actually enjoys spicy, but this was too much. I couldn’t eat much of it. My husband’s entree was just meh. The waitress was friendly but was easily distracted. The only great things were the dessert and the ambiance. Last year in Christmas Eve everything was EXCELLENT here but this year they really dropped the ball. We will not be back.

Good service and food. We ordered a the pork belly nachos, roasted salmon, fried chicken, bolognese, and shrimp and duck entrees. Everything came out quickly and tasted fresh. We look forward to returning.
