The Restaurant
Our main restaurant is modern with a lantern light ceiling which allows in plenty of natural light to flood in. A great piece of real architectural design. The restaurant boast some wonderful bespoke ironwork along with a vintage industrial feel . This restaurant offers a modern ambiance an ideal place to catch up with family and friends and enjoy our mouthwatering local dishes.

The Inn
The Inn is full of old world charm with little hidden nucks for dining. This restaurant is full of character and is used at lunch times primarily, but in the evenings, it offers a cosy ambiance lit by candle light ideal for a more casual approach to dining.

The Inn also offers an afternoon tea which is simply divine. Served between 2pm-5pm by prior bookings only.

The Bar and Snug is a relaxed and super cosy space sticking with the old charm of the Inn which this part of the building offers. It has an impressive wood burning stove and is dog friendly.

We were a family of two adults and two children who booked for the inn. We were put in the restaurant and felt very out of place. We ordered two roast dinners, one beef and one turkey with all the trimmings and were slightly dissapointed to find only one of them came with a Yorkshire pudding as this was not advertised. The children had sausage which were so spicy they couldn’t eat them and one ordered a. cheesy garlic bread but it came without any cheese. Staff were wonderful but it wasn’t the most enjoyable way to spend so much money.

Went for a vegetarian option- sweet potato and chickpea curry, bit disappointing to be honest, so many restaurants have decent vegetarian options available these days as well as vegan. There was only 3 sweet potato chunks and sadly they weren’t thoroughly cooked. I had Cartmel sticky toffee for dessert which was lovely but Cartmel sticky toffee is lovely wherever you go 😋

Main course was good but the potatoes were a bit too rustic. Crème brûlée was very small.

Lovely food and friendly service. Had a smaller portion roast, standard roast and smaller fish and chips and all was still very generous in size and excellent value for money. Food was hot when came out and all was tasty.

Wonderful as always. Attentive staff, great choice of dishes and specials, all the dessert options sounded delicious. Biscoff cheesecake amazing! Price of special slightly high for the portion size but tasted excellent- so worth it. Nice setting, cosy and stylish

Our first visit didn’t disappoint, food was amazing, the staff were welcoming and friendly and very beautifully decorated, lots of room between tables but still has a cosy atmosphere 😊😊 we will definitely be back

Lovely restaurant in Crooklands, very clean and welcoming. Staff were all friendly, and the food was exceptional . 🥰

Great meal …. Barnsley chop for one and beef stroganoff for the other, both very very good. Cheesy garlic bread shared to start and that was very nice, tasty and just enough to share without spoiling the main course. Like their olde worlde area best, it’s very cosy and intimate.
