Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first.

Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.

Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza.

Croccante currently holds an award from 50 top pizza, as one of the 50 top pizzerias in USA in the "excellent" category as well as a nomination by SF Chronicle as One of the Top Pizzerias in the Bay Area.

Pizza and garlic knots were delicious! We will definitely go back to Croccante. Only complaint was paying a dollar for refills on Arnold palmers.

Absolutely delicious pizza! I was very impressed with the gluten free pizza and options. Kind of pricey, 4 slices for $25, but you can definitely get filled up on two slices.

Great location in downtown Napa, near the River Walk. Since this was our first visit, our server recommended the 5 star chicken wings and they didn’t disappoint! Chicken was juicy with a nice crunchy bite. We followed that with a Caesar salad and the housemade dressing was delicious with a great anchovy flavor. The Croccante pizza was truly delicious. Detroit-style pan pizza where the crust is baked with a cheese coating and the sauce was put on top, rather than as a base. The crust was crispy and tender at the same time and the sauce was full of flavor. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. I highly recommend a visit next time you’re in Napa.

Tried some really delicious pizza while in Napa. Both the Detroit style and Chicago Tavern style were excellent. The Salad was a great mix. Service was nice and very friendly. Check out Croccante1

Always a favorite of my fiancé and mine. Ashley was our server and she was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Very personable, unpretentious service was really a pleasure to experience. The restaurant is popular and has a limited menu, but what they offer is a good quality product. I would have liked a slightly larger size pizza option to share. The pizza and salad were tasty.
