Crispin at Studio Voltaire is a 50-cover modern European restaurant and counter bar located in leading gallery and arts organisation Studio Voltaire.

The kitchen, lead by Michael Miles, delivers classic and seasonal menus showcasing the best produce of the British Isles from small-scale and independent producers. Expect modern takes on European and British classics, fresh pastas, charcoal-grilled meat and fish, seasonal vegetables, and comforting desserts.

Alongside an array of sustainable tap wines each season’s wine list will bring a focus to 4 different winemakers, celebrating their individual stories. The wine programme will also include wine tastings and winemaker dinners.

Located a few minutes from Clapham Common station this multi-use venue has event capacity up to 400 people standing or up to 200 people seated, plus a garden terrace.

Crispin Events offers catering services for seated dining, weddings receptions and dinners, working lunches and canapé and drinks parties.

Chef Michael Miles has curated a very special 4-course feasting menu, designed to be shared amongst the table, together with a welcome drink and an exclusive private view of Studio Voltaire's Autumn exhibition: LAP-SEE LAM's FLOATING SEA PALACE. The experience, which combines recipes using the best produce from small-scale and independent producers; and the show, inspired by the historical restaurant Sea Palace - reflects Crispin's own mission to celebrate the continued relationship between the physical and culinary arts. Really great dishes & menu choices with reasonable pricing. However, the service was very slow, friendly but slow! and there was no on tap beer at the bar or resturant section (apparently the filter had broken) but there was no bottled beer either, as a backup! rookie mistake that hopefully can be learned from. Overall, really liked the food and its a lovely venue.

We really enjoyed our dinner here last night with friends. The atmosphere was on point. Relaxed but buzzy. Staff really friendly and attentive. We were advised to share plates but in honestly you would only get a bit each of each dish so perhaps best to stick to a more traditional way of ordering with a starter then main with a side of you are hungry. Food was tasty overall though.

The entire staff team were warm, professional and welcoming. The food was outstanding; plates looked very simple and yet taste was surprisingly joyful and flavoursome. I loved the pasta dish and croquettes, choice of bread and quality of butter are also notable. The service felt personal and front of house staff have excellent knowlegde about food, actively making recommendations. Love the low key cool music. Love the wine but wish the measurements were more generous for the price.

Second visit and this time was even better. There were 4 of us so shared the peppers and croquettes, tomato tatin, lamb kofte and straciatella, half chicken and pasta dish. Chicken was absolutely delicious. As were the smaller plates. Quality, fresh and in season ingredients, and flavours. Great advice and recommendation on the wine. The candle light and pared back interior is really atmospheric. Lovely evening, thank you. Highly recommend.

Very understaffed front of house meant that our table wasn’t looked after. The staff they did have seemed quite inexperienced. The food was also mainly a miss - the tomato tart tartin we had being downright weird. Disappointed as their other sites were far better

Have eaten here several times now and the food is always fab and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. We came in early this time with our baby and they were incredibly kind and accommodating. Highly recommended.

A very very delicious meal. Every single thing we ordered was exceptional. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had lunch there and can highly recommend the £5 cocktail deal before 7pm.
