Have been to this location a few times this is by far the worst time we have been. We were celebrating my husbands promotion at work and we were specific about what we wanted. I got the Birria tacos which didn’t have much meat more cheese and cilantro. He order the brisket and the pastrami. We asked for nothing on the meat. It came out with peppers on top. The fries were so dry and we really could eat them. They seemed old and over cooked. I have to say it was disappointing to say the least. Maybe we try a different location after this.

Good was delicious, drinks were tasty, service was super friendly (server was Kylie), staff was accommodating…everything was terrific! They even brought out a delicious ice cream cake to surprise my son for his birthday.

The menu has a ton of options it was hard to choose. The food was amazing and service was great too! The ambiance was really fun and has an open air concept.

Had a reservation and walked in on time queued up at the front, and it took a few minutes to greet and seat me. Afterwards we were pretty rudely deposited at a table. After around 10 minutes without seeing a server come by, I was looking on yelp for good restaurants on the same block and was about to cross the street and go to Urban Pocha when my wife asked a passing waitress for service. It was almost 15 minutes before we could ask for some water and place an order. Food landed on our table 39 minutes after we sat down. The food is pretty good. The price for the portion was reasonable and the flavor was good. The space is very cute and spacious. The birria short rib quesadilla was really good, the Harvest Grain salad was very aggressively dressed - I would ask for dressing on the side next time if possible. The salad was sopping wet. The half pound of Pastrami was tasty. I would come back to try again but not if I had somewhere to be afterwards in a timely fashion.

Our waitress was PHENOMENAL. Her name escapes me, but she was so professional and attentive. We were at the Pasadena location at 11am on 7/14/24. Will definitely be back!!

We had a great meal here! Everything was delicious. Jennifer was our server and she was the highlight! She had a huge section and still was very kind and attentive to our group. Rare to get such great service these days. Will be back if ever in Pasadena again!

Food was good but not great. Service was a little slow but they brought complementary garlic bread to hold us over. The rafters could use dusting. Very fair price for BBQ, though.

Beth Lynn, our server, was incredible. But we marked down the service because the host pretended not to see us and sat 2 parties who came in after us. Didn’t even care that we had a reservation.

We are visiting Pasadena as part of a vacation and when I found Craft by Smoke and Fire. My husband and I enjoy good BBQ and smoked meats, so we made reservations for Saturday night. Just a note: Craft is not air conditioned, so requesting indoor seating doesn’t guarantee that you will be any cooler than outside (the week of our vacation, California was having record heat wave temperatures up and down the state). The hostess seated us towards the back and under a ceiling fan, which was really helpful (big points to her for that kindness). Overall, the restaurant was good, here is my breakdown. *Food: 4/5 (My husband’s order, the Stockburger, was not correct, he asked for no onions, and when he sent it back, all the kitchen staff did was scrape off the onions. Something to consider, you don’t know why a customer has asked to remove an item, maybe it’s allergies, maybe it’s just a taste thing, but whatever the reason, the food should no longer reflect that taste). Because my husband didn’t want me to eat while they were remaking his food again, he scraped off what was left of the onion (a few pieces) and dealt. But for a $17 entree, you should not have to “deal”. Onions aside, he said it was a very good sandwich and I tried a bite, it was. I would agree with him that the waffle fries were average, Trader Joe’s waffle fries are far superior. I ordered the Madison (a brisket sandwich with American Cheese, coleslaw, pickles) and it was also very good, though the meat was a bit on the dry side. *Service: 3/5 (We are not sure if our waitress had too many tables to cover or if she just kind of lost track of things, but there were a few times when she was a bit slow. It was clear that our food had been sitting under the warmer for a few minutes and we waited almost 10 minutes for her to pick up the credit card and close out of bill. One small piece of advice: addressing restaurant patrons as “friends” is fine. Maybe I am old school, but “sir” and “ma’am” also
