Used to go to the old Coyote Grill and it was really great. My girlfriend and I went here expecting the same thing since the name was the same. Well that was not at all the case. It was completely dead when we got there. The food was all very bland. Then as you eat since it’s dead the wait staff just stares at you to see if you are enjoying the food and also checks back in every 4 minutes just to see if the food is okay. Also the prices for what it was wasn’t worth it. I got what seemed to be like chicken parm with a little like twist on it. It ended up tasting like chicken i could get next door at noodles and company. My girlfriend got pesto spaghetti and there was no flavor at all the only thing you could taste was nuts and noodles. We risked it all and went for desert I got chocolate cake and she got tiramisu. The cake appeared to be very moist but quickly proves otherwise. Then the tiramisu tasted more like cheesecake than tiramisu. Overall I can’t say I’d recommend it and I would say for sure go somewhere else.

We arrived for our lunch reservation and the restaurant was closed for work - we saw people painting the interior - no notice was given that the restaurant was closed. We shouldn't have been able to make a reservation for a restaurant that was not open.

A reminder to those curious - this is Not the Coyote of yester-year on Main Str in Fairfax City. The interior - much improved, the menu - yes a bit more expensive but the quality is far superior to the Tex-Mex of the former owners. It was quiet when we were there, but at hovering 100 degrees, not a lot of people out. This was our second visit and we'll definitely return again. Food, surroundings, service very good to excellent.

The new decor is beautiful, fresh and clean. Our server was great very helpful in answering all my questions. The food came out quickly however, it was lukewarm at best. Presentation was beautiful! I would prefer more spices used in the dishes - fish and the carnitas fajitas. My husband and I thought both dishes were on the bland side. We will try Coyote Grill again but it will be several months. We need restaurants that are local so I wish the new management all the best.

The food was cold. We were expecting more of the old restaurant. The restaurant was almost empty.

We live in town and tried Coyote Grille after it changed owners. Don't expect it to be similar to the former restaurant, it's completely different. They should really change the name and the logo so it's clear. We came here with neighbors a few months ago when they first opened and tried some appetizers. The flavors were good, but the yucca app was cold in the middle and the brussels were a little overcooked. The pisco sours were blended instead of shaken, very weird. Not a great first impression. The ambiance is weird too, lots of staff standing around, but understand they just opened and still working out kinks. Wanting to support local business, my wife and I went a second time during Restaurant Week. Our cocktails were great. My yucca app was still cold in the middle and her tamale was dry in the middle. I got Peruvian chicken, my chicken thigh was dry, the skin was fatty on the edges, and it needed salt. Arepas, sauce, and slaw were good. My wife's carne asada was okay, steak cooked nicely. The Tres leches cake tasted like plain boxed yellow cake, we weren't even sure it was Tres leches. I sound like a real a-hole here, but we eat at some really amazing restaurants on a regular basis. We also come from cooking families and cook very well at home. These dishes have not been well executed. Overall a bit saddened, we really wanted to be impressed. If you're a foodie, you may be disappointed. We may try again someday, but it will have to be another Restaurant Week so the prices are lower.

We had 6 people at the table. The first two people were served and had to start eating so it didn’t get cold. When they were 3/4 finished the next 2 were served. Then about 4 minutes later another and 5 minutes later my food. So it was not great service. The waiter said the kitchen was backed up but at least bring all the food at the same time

Enjoyable food interesting. We had not tried the Latin South American food interesting flavors. They need to change their sign to say just Coyote Grill takeaway Cantina It used to be an excellent Mexican restaurant recently I think people still it is Mexican 🤷‍♀️

We are from out of town and we chose this restaurant quickly by seeing it on Open Table. The food was beyond outstanding!! I would highly recommend the Arepas de Carnitas, the Grilled Carne Asada and the house made churros, which were the best churros I have ever had anywhere! Fantastic! Make a date of this and let yourself enjoy the experience! We will definitely return!
