Take a seat at our signature French-inspired bistro, Couvant, housed in the former Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory. Here, French techniques (think pain perdu for breakfast and cochon de lait for dinner) play on the roots of New Orleans cuisine using fresh, local ingredients.

New Orleans is renowned for its French cuisine, and you won’t have to leave the confines of The Eliza Jane to enjoy delicious fare within a French bistro.

Couvant specializes in classic French cooking serving entrees that pay homage to French history and regional specialties. Never pretentious, the dishes and service at Couvant are purposefully simple and social. Nestle into an intimate dining room banquette.                                                                 Our food and cocktails were exceptional. Fairly close to other tables, but this was okay for our evening. If it were a private or romantic dinner, then maybe not. Our server was very attentive.

                                                                Please turn up the speakers during a Drag Brunch, this didn’t make the performances enjoyable. I give it up to the staff and dancers for trying it make it a positive experience.

                                                                Our server was absolutely fantastic. She was very attentive and apologetic in regard to the slow service from the bar and kitchen. Our first course came around the 40 minute mark and our drinks around 20 although we were one of 4 tables in the restaurant. Puff pastry and crab claws were delicious but the signature cocktails were less than desirable. Packed full of ice with maybe 4 sips. We finished our cocktails prior to finishing the first course and sat empty for around 30 minutes while we waited for the main course. The duck was to die for. The fish was at most a 3oz portion and the chicken was fine. Our second round of drinks came well after us finishing our main course. Our wonderful server apologized of course but we felt bad because it was not at all her fault. My drink came out incorrectly and the manager on duty brought out the corrected drink. Pretty poor experience overall. Likely will not return.

                                                                Second time dining in & I decided to take my Husband here for his birthday. The first time was a much better experience. The food & drinks were okay lastnight but nothing over the top. Dishes definitely lacked flavor this time around. Our server was very nice and sitting in the courtyard was a great vibe. Seating in booths outside need upgrades. The cushions were flat making it very uncomfortable.

                                                                We went for breakfast.Food was good. Service was poor. Never came for coffee refills. Never gave us our English muffins but charged us.

                                                                Probably the BEST hotel restaurants I’ve been to in awhile. The food is stunningly assembled and the service is amazing. The short rib is so rich and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend
