Cocktail Garden at DC's First-Ever Rum Distillery. We serve award-winning cocktails with our rums.

Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 is required from all guests for all service, indoors and out.

"Regular" tables are located in our Annex, an open-air warehouse with protection from wind and rain, strong heaters, and plenty of air circulation with one wall open to the outdoors. Reservations are for 2 hours. Reservations for up to 10 may be made online. For larger parties, email kyle@cottonandreed.com.

Outdoor patio tables are first-come first-serve. If you want to sit outside, just make a note in your reservation. We'll do everything we can to accommodate. But no guarantees, because what if it rains, you know?

For hanging out in the bar like in the before times, just come on by.

Last call is at 9:30pm Sunday through Thursday and 1:30am Friday and Saturday.

Woman who was checking IDs and Covid cards at the front created a really unpleasant experience. My Covid card hadn't been completed by a nurse in full when I got my first shot (it didn't include my name on the card or the date of the first shot which is totally fair to question) but after I brought up the reservation email for the shot she told me she needed a confirmation email. After bringing up a confirmation email, she told me she actually needed website proof of the shot. After bringing that up, she sent me and my party outside again to bring up a confirmation email from the second shot, despite that section of the card being completed in full. Overall, she made me bring up over five different sources of confirmation that I got my Covid shot. We were then seated by an open garage door, which was essentially outside in 35 degree weather. After asking to move to a table closer to a heat lamp, she told us we could not move because there were no extra chairs, even though there were multiple tables open throughout the night. Overall it was a weird, hostile experience to just get drinks even with a reservation. The drinks themselves are good but pricey and our waiter was really nice, though they're clearly understaffed because he was handling a ton of tables and service was understandably slow as a result. f you're looking for a nice night out, I would try somewhere else.

Cotton & Reed had a great outdoor space and great menu. The waiter was helpful in recommending drinks. Their whole approach is that their menu is based on the the rums they distill which were all great.

Great place to grab a drink with a friend and sit outside watching the world go by (or watch the union market district change before your eyes). The drinks are delicious concoctions, the service is very friendly, and it's one of the few outdoor seating areas that's actually relatively quiet because there isn't much traffic. An eclectic 80's mix provides a marvelous aural backdrop. No food service - although there are plenty of food options nearby that you can bring in.

The cocktails are great but it is SO LOUD. Even outside, it was uncomfortably loud. Turns out blasting the bass in a warehouse space isn’t conducive to an enjoyable ambience…

No food served here but the drinks were amazing as always! The slushies are essential for summertime visits. Service was quick and staff is always fun and personable.

Great location and drinks but it took 30 minutes to get our drinks (with a reservation). We asked for water that never came. Would have stayed for more drinks but you just can’t get served.
