Went here for dinner, ordered three appetizers but only ended up receiving two of the appetizers. They forgot one of the appetizers before they brought the entrees, so we reminded them. Then after they took our empty entree plates, we reminded them again that we’d still like the appetizer. Finally, after another ten minutes, we flagged them down and mentioned a third time, at which point we had to wait another ten minutes for them to actually make and bring the appetizer. When the check came, the appetizer was still on it - we had hoped they might comp it given they had forgotten about it three times. I’d love to go back for the food, but the service really left a bad taste in our mouths.

Good food, nice vibe, friendly servers. Cute resto with a sister restaurant across the street. Part of a mini nyc chain.

Tiny restaurant, waitress was great. Our appetizers were amazing. We started with prosciutto and Barata prosciutto was slightly thick, but the flavor made up for that. The Barato was fine. We had tuna tartare with avocado which was divine. Then we had the pasta with the sauce, which was perfect. My wife had the linguine and clams which was a little disappointing. Overall we had a good time! My martini by the way was perfect.

The restaurant did not honor our reservation yesterday. We arrived and the hostess told us they had no space, regardless of our reservation (we were5 mins early) and then brought us to another restaurant across the street, saying the restaurants are “similar .” We waited outside in the heat long enough to sweat through our clothes as we waited for the attention of the “managers” to resolve this problem. When we complained to the “manager” we were told to just waita while. Though a table eventually looked like it was going to open up, We left rather than let this series of events continue to poison our evening out. I’ve been to this restaurant before and really enjoyed my meal, but this was just annoying and obnoxious

Cotenna is tiny they fill every square inch with diners. as a result it is really loud and that didn’t bother us. The food is excellent. Had a warm octopus salad that was amazing and perfectly cooked. Also had a seeafood linguine that was so tasty. Was overcharged for a bottle of wine but didn’t bother to say anything because the two servers were truly hustling. Ordered a 2015 Vino Nobile from a solid producer and received a 2019 from a mediocre winery. Again, no big deal. Save yourself the trouble and order house wines. The pours are excellent (we say at the bar). We would go back.

Cotenna is a cozy restaurant and had great wine and food options, the espresso martinis are amazing as well. We did unfortunately have a seating mishap where we had a reservation for outside, but when we arrived the tables were taken and the parties there had not ordered food yet. We asked to be seated inside due to not having the option for outside and it was a bit too warm to sit outside, but the only option that was given was the bar where two of our party sat behind the bar with the bartenders or to go across the street to the sister restaurant. Even though we had a reservation, the restaurant was not prepared for us and we had to sit elsewhere. Even with this mishap, the overall experience was delightful and I would return.
