Not the greatest of experiences. It started with a nice welcome at the doors and a lovely table has been indicated to us but after we took a seat, a lady called Beata asked us to change the table, as apparently ours was promised to someone else. It didn’t feel right at all. The table we were advised to take instead was in a dark corner of the room. The waiters and waitresses were kind and sweet but the food was below average. I wouldn’t recommend any vegan options, unless you enjoy quorn-like food. All in all, Cote does not seem to offer the value it did in the past. I will definitely not be back.

Lovely atmosphere, great service and beautiful food. As celebrating friends birthday they provided us with a complimentary bottle and also a pudding. Finished off a wonderful day ❤️

On vacation from the US and Cote Brasserie got good reviews on Open Table so we decided to try it. The restaurant is located in the theater district of Covenant Garden along with many other restaurants. Our reservation was for 6:45pm but we arrived at 6:00pm and they were very accommodating. We had a drink at a little table outside and proceeded in for our meal around 6:15pm. My husband and 15yo son had steaks that were very good (but not the best ever) with fries. I had the beef bourguignon which was excellent. Meat was tender and seasoned well. The drink list is better than average with cocktails, beer, wine, specialty drinks, non-alcoholic and sodas. They asked about allergies which was nice. We would definitely come back again.

We were given a table in a rather dark corner, next to the waiters station, so it was quite noisy with plates clattering and the ambiance wasn’t great. The food was decent, with a couple of quibbles. For example, the ‘ham and cheese toastie’ on the kid’s menu was just ham a cheese on toast, we were expecting a toasted sandwich, as served at Cote in Oxford. The tomato, basil and shallot salad, was essentially just a bowl of tomatoes and lacked the other elements. Also, to describe the hot chocolate as ‘decadent’ was definitely a stretch too far for a mug of weak, cheap, watery powdered chocolate. I guess it was the £4.95 price tag that was the decadent bit! All in all, it was ok but we wouldn’t hurry back.

Really extensive menu and good selection of drinks We went at 6 in the evening Very busy waited for 20 minutes for our booked table to be seated so twenty minutes late Service slow but good friendly staff

We decided on dinner at this restaurant after a long travel day from the US. It was a convenient location and a value price point. Overall I think the restaurant was what we expected from the reviews. Good, but not stellar. We were a party of 3. We arrived about 45 mins before the kitchen closed so we were patient with the staff as they were preparing for close. With that said, we were not rushed, our waiter was gracious and the courses were properly timed. We had the baguette with butter. Bread was warm and really good. We also had the warm olives and the calamari. My daughter loves calamari and gave it a 7 out of 10. I had the French onion soup, which had a nice flavor, but was warm rather than hot. Given the hour I didn't want to send it back and despite the temperature I did enjoy the soup. For entrees we had the steak frites. The steak was ok. The temperature was perfect, but it could have been more flavorful. The French fries were perfect and really tasty. The best dish, however, was the pork belly. It came over cabbage with scalloped potatoes on the side. It was really excellent. For dessert we had the strawberry mess ... it was different ... I didn't love the meringue bits, but that is a personal preference. The flavor was nice. I just wish it had more of the fruit. Overall a decent meal. I don't know that I would make it a destination for dinner, but it perfectly fit our needs after 10 hours of travel.
