Reservation Cancellation Policy: As we are a small restaurant with limited seating, No Shows and Reservations cancelled with less than 12 hour notice may be subject to a charge of $20 per person.

Our Patio counts on a heated and covered tent that will run through December, January and February for additional seating.

The Cortez is a fresh seafood and small plates experience with a freshly kept selection of tropical cocktails that draw on our food memories, travels through the years, and Mexican-American heritage.

We reserved an outdoor table but one was not available when we arrived. Our server was not able to out-shout the noise from their speaker system so we were limited to menu descriptions. However, the food quality was exceptional. Food and drink selections were fine but not exceptional.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Cortez. Fantastic cocktails and yummy dinner! Octopus, tuna and scallops-all cooked to perfection with delicious sauces! Can’t wait to go back!

Incredible meal! I had a “whole fish” for the first time ever and it was awesome! We also ordered the Oyster shooters and they were delicious, definitely an awesome meal and felt worth the price on the check!

This was a very nice experience considering a Saturday night in September on a home football weekend when I would have expected it to be slammed. It wasn't. Steady all night and from the moment we arrived, greeted by a friendly FoH manager, my family and I enjoyed our evening. First, the chairs. These are the best restaurant chairs I've sat in, perhaps ever. They were wooden, padded, with just enough arm rest, easy to slide in and out. This may sound silly but the chairs are many times just not comfortable or over-designed. These were just right. Nice job to whomever picked them. The tables, as well, were solid, no rocking. Yet tasteful. Same with the interiors, and all tableware. Great ambiance and not too loud. Good energy level...good background music. Nice volume. We started with N.C. Snapper Ceviche, Charred Octopus, and Fried Baja Taquitos. Then the Scallops with an Alborino pairing. Then finished with a shared Pinche Carne Asada. Every bite was delish. They brought my daughter a lovely churo birthdya bite with peach ice cream that was delicious, as well. Only knock was service was a bit spotty for a not-packed night. Not a show stopper. It was ok. All food was good, but some dishes were average while others were incredible. Probably won’t come back, but would recommend at least once.

Everything was amazing. Came with my boyfriend for the first time. The crab avocado toast is to die for and the taquitos. We also did the grilled oysters which was a first time for us and it was soooo good! From one server to another, the service was great! Expo was on point! & so was the kitchen. We will be back!

Innovative and fun dishes. We especially like the baja tosadas and shrimp small plates. They also a have an interesting wine list that paired well with the food. We have already recommended them to friends.
