Introducing Cornus, a rooftop space in Belgravia, the second restaurant from David O’Connor and Joe Mercer-Nairne of the acclaimed Chelsea restaurant, Medlar.

Chef Gary Foulkes will lead the kitchen, joining from the Michelin-starred Angler to offer a regularly changing menu. Foulkes will lead the kitchen, combining his ingredient-led approach with flavours and techniques encountered on his travels around the world. Foulkes will create an à la carte menu of creative, elevated dishes, grounded in the traditional principles and techniques of French cuisine. The menu will showcase the best of the British and European larder. David will lead the Front of House team alongside Wine Director Melania Battiston.

Love Medlar and wanted to love Cornus too. Service and welcome exemplary. Food good, main courses needed more veg and a sauce. Outstanding custard tart! Kelly formerly of Cornerstone, is a tremendous asset to the restaurant. Her deserts are extraordinary. On the minus side, decor very bland. We were a group of 5 and were seated in a corner, half were unable to see into the main dining room. Should have requested moving to another table.

This lovely restaurant only opened 3 months ago. The amuse bouche were great, the bread delicious and plentiful. The staff were brilliant, very attentive and welcoming. The food was very good, we had the a la carte menu, delicious tuna starter followed by cod main. There are no sides but didn't really need them. My wife was given a pudding on the house ( we were celebrating her 50th), very nice touch! Overall a very nice lunch and highly recommended.

We have loved Medlar restaurant ever since we first visit so had high expectations of Cornus, a cutting from that first tree. Our expectations were absolutely not confounded. Slightly dfferent in atmosphere from Medlar but in every way outstanding. Faultles food and a sommelier who knows her cellar and advises well. It's not a cheap eat but worth every penny. Tucked away from the hubub of Victoria, it's a quiet oasis. I imagine that in the summer there will be tables on the 4th floor terrace overlooking the rooftops . Altogether, highly recommended.

The food is very good, but the room feels like a hotel breakfast canteen. Service was very friendly but slightly “work in progress “. Not sure if we’ll rush back, for these sort of prices you have to tick all the boxes.

Absolutely fabulous food, elegant and discreet service in a lovely setting. The crab with fresh green apple sorbet was a true standout. It was both beautiful, perfectly balanced, delicate, sweet and perfectly delicious. Every dish was gorgeously executed and the flavors well-balanced, thoughtful and perfect. We were celebrating a special anniversary and this made for a wonderful and memorable experience. We have had many Michelin star dining experiences, and predict this restaurant will soon join the ranks. Highly recommended! Expensive but worth it. :). Go before it gets too famous!
