Introducing Cornus, a rooftop space in Belgravia, the second restaurant from David O’Connor and Joe Mercer-Nairne of the acclaimed Chelsea restaurant, Medlar.

Chef Gary Foulkes will lead the kitchen, joining from the Michelin-starred Angler to offer a regularly changing menu. Foulkes will lead the kitchen, combining his ingredient-led approach with flavours and techniques encountered on his travels around the world. Foulkes will create an à la carte menu of creative, elevated dishes, grounded in the traditional principles and techniques of French cuisine. The menu will showcase the best of the British and European larder. David will lead the Front of House team alongside Wine Director Melania Battiston.

the team from Medlar knock it out of the park at the new venture Cornus. Make sure you check it out as it is excellent.

My new favourite restaurant. Great food and atmosphere. Perfect for a catch up with friends, family or business event. Staff were excellent.

We arrived very early for our lunch booking and sat at the bar and had a few great cocktails before being seated. The lunch tasting menu was exceptional as was the recommended wine flight. Service was superb - warm and informative - no pretension - the way it should be. The design of the restaurant is simple and effective, clean and bright - suitable top quality wine glasses, attractive crockery, a menu and drinks lists you can read. This restaurant is extra special in every way - the way it should be done - in my opinion. Thanks

I had a lovely dinner, technically the cooking was flawless the seasoning was just right and the dishes weren't overly complex but nonetheless sophisticated and delivering satisfying, deep flavour. The quality of ingredients is very high and would not be out of place at a 2-3 star joint and this justifies the pricing which obviously is a touch above Nandos. The chicken had very good flavour and, unless you're accustomed to spending a lot of money on chickens, clearly better than 99% of chickens you'll come across. The langoustines were wonderfully sweet, the lobster on the pasta starter was so good to eat. Individual components like the girolles on the chicken, pastry in the mille feuille and a blob of apricot puree were very high class. The brown sugar custard tart was celestial. Again the pastry was insanely good, melting away, so thin yet perfectly and consistently cooked. And the custard was perfect, set just right not too firm and not too sweet but with a lovely brown sugar hit. Kitchen is strong and someone in there knows a thing or two about pastry. Service was excellent, relaxed yet informed when I asked some probably annoying questions about the dishes and they even convincingly laughed at my bad jokes. I'll definitely be back it feels like the kind of place I want to support.

This a wonderful addition to London's restaurants. All the food is exceptional and the wine list quite brilliant and very reasonably priced. Overall this is a top dining experience and Cornus deserves to do very well.

Our first visit to Cornus and we will definitely return. The food was excellent and the service was good. Lacking a little in ambience, but it was a wednesday lunchtime. Mike R.
