Cork & Gabel, a restaurant fusion of Irish, Italian, and German cuisine, opened in 2018 in Detroit's Corktown district. We are known for our use of modern techniques on old school classics. European comfort food is a staple at Cork & Gabel. We pride ourselves on being a scratch kitchen, sourcing and using Michigan vendors including farmers and small business. Fresh is key when it comes to providing a great experience and we make everything we can fresh and in house.

We made reservations for a Saturday night which we didn’t need, so we were seated promptly outside. Location. location, location. We had a beautiful view of Michigan Central and Roosevelt Park. My daughter loved her fish and chips, hubby loved his kielbasa but did not care for the traditional vinegar style potato salad. I thought it was fine. Definitely made on site. I didn’t like my dish of the week which was short rib ragu, but I can be picky on flavors. Not faulting the restaurant. Service was prompt. I think we had our dinner in under 10 minutes after ordering. There is a parking lot right behind the restaurant which was convenient since the park was busy. We all said we would definitely return again. After, we had a wonderful walk around the area. It was a gorgeous night in the D!

Although we had a booking for a table, when we arrived we were told that there were no tables available - not enough servers. Sat at the bar because we wanted to eat instead of waiting. Good choice. Bartender John and his staff took good care of us. Portions are on the large size so opted to share the schnitzel blt. Forgot to ask John to put the aioli on the side as I am not fond of it. Large sandwich with lots of bacon and lots of aioli. Still very good. Go for one of the Irish desserts. Excellent

Dined with 2 friends, and we three enjoyed it tremendously! Started with drinks which were all delicious and a nice size. For dinner I chose the Michigan arugula salad with fried goat cheese. So good and filling! Would def get again. Both of my friends got the lobster and shrimp ravioli. I sampled a bite and it was fabulous. They both ate every bite! No room for dessert today 🫤 but plan on returning to get the donuts for dessert next time!

Met two friends at Cork & Cable on a Thursday night. I was there one other time and had the wild mushroom stuffed ravioli and it was to die for! This time I had chicken marsala and it was prepared perfectly. Great service, relaxed vibe. I'll be back!

Cork and Gabel were not on my radar. We only made a reservation there because Open Table brought the restaurant to our attention. There was good indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. We chose the outdoor seating. It’s really nice and their patio area and now you have the newly renovated Train station to look at. We ordered pretzel sticks and goat cheese as appetizers. We had lobster and shrimp ravioli and lamb pasta dish. The burgers that other tables had ordered looked so delicious as they passed by us, but we wanted to try something different. We were very pleased with all of the food we ordered. And we thought the price was fair. Two beers two appetizers two entrées our bill was $82 before tip. We will be returning.
