Just AMAZING! We’ve been trying for years to get in here, we finally did and WOW!!! I now know why it’s so hard to get a table! From the very second we walked through the door, every single person greeted us with a smile, a wave (yes the kitchen too!) and were so warm and friendly. We instantly relaxed into the beautiful dining area which is so cosy, comfortable and pretty. Then the food came, we did one of the taster menus and wine paring… oh my goodness.. every mouthful was a delight! Just exquisite. This place is pure class with a relaxed ambiance and food to die for! And to top it all off, Clare Smyth was in the kitchen cooking! We had the honour of meeting her at the end of our meal and what a lovely lady! We had a final drink in the beautiful bar area after our meal which completed our experience perfectly. I can’t recommend this place enough - it is PERFECTION!

We had a really wonderful evening to celebrate our son’s engagement. The service was absolutely outstanding. Every member of staff went above and beyond to give us an amazing experience. It goes without saying that the food was incredible and we had some fantastic wines. Thank very much to all the staff at Core.

This restaurant served reinvented British classics and like most reinventions some work and some don’t because they miss the magic of the original. All food was great though and my real problem was with the service. It was attentive on the verge of being too attentive and because they try to be professional they are distant and cold to the point of almost being mean. I mean try smiling.

Warm welcome. Favourite dishes; crab, potato with trout, cep tartlet. My partner has said the lamb/carrot was the best dish he’s ever tasted!! Food was exceptional. Wine menu - extensive, sommelier super helpful. The hosting team were professional, passionate about what they do and this shone through with their service. Whiskey & seaweed bar looked great, unable to manage another drink after seating, there is no time to enjoy a drink before the 630pm sitting due to turnaround of table, if you get a later sitting than 630, you should be able to enjoy a cocktail in the bar which would have been the cherry on the cake. Top tip- chef said to book on way out for the next time - it’s challenging to get in here for a date you want! It was my partners birthday and they gave a lovely discreet nod to this. Core by Clare Smyth- a big happy tick for his food bucket list!!

That was our first dining experience at Core, even though we are very hard to please we have to say it has exceeded our expectations and we will want to visit Core again in the future.

Exquisite!! The depth of flavours in all dishes was extraordinary, the wine pairing was spot-on and the presentation and service is top notch. A great dining experience overall!

Oh dear now I'hooked. Food gorgeous, wine pairing interesting and sometimes sublime, service could not be faulted. Thanks to all front and back of house.
