Brought to you by Award Winning Chef Michael Chiarello and located at Pier 5 on the bustling San Francisco Waterfront, Coqueta is inspired by the cuisines of Spain. Chef Chiarello feels that Spain’s signature ‘small plates’ coupled with the social vibrancy of their dining scene is the perfect combination for San Francisco, which has its own deep-rooted history with the country. Focusing on regional dishes from Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country and beyond, the menu will feature Chiarello's interpretation of traditional Spanish cuisine and, as has always been his tradition, will highlight the bounty of fresh, local ingredients from land and sea.

Coqueta means “flirt” or “infatuation” in Spanish, and represents Michael Chiarello and his team’s exploration and interpretation of Spanish Cuisine, wine and inspired cocktails, while highlighting the bounty of Northern California.

All show and no substance. The food looks nice but mostly tastes bland, uninspired, and nothing like you’d experience in Spain or even a good Spanish restaurant in the US. Very disappointing and pricey combined mean a total skip.

Kitchen seems to have slipped in the last year. Patatas bravas were not very savory, nor the huevos nacionales. Even the gambas were ho hum. Service was on point, but food was lacking.

Quality of the food wasn’t as good as it used to be here. One dish had potatoes that were undercooked followed by a dish that had overcooked potatoes. They also messed up our bill twice charging us for items we did not order. I hope that wasn’t intentional, but I’m not sure. The cocktails were excellent though and the service was very good.

Reservamos afuera, pero sentimos mucho frio y nos sentaron en la barra sin problema. El mesero muy amable, nos dii buenas sugerencias, la comida muy bien servida y delicioso

I'll start with the ambiance. Coqueta is beautiful, it's in front of the bay, but it's very windy, everything on the table flies around. They could do something to try to reduce this problem... The service is very polite and helpful. The food isn't bad, but the flavors, quantities, and references could be better. I'm a chef and I love Coqueta. However, the last time I went, the food wasn't good... The shrimp needed to be cooked, as did the octopus. The paella had a very strong flavor, we couldn't eat it all, and the rice was raw. I hope that next time I go this bad memory will be erased.
